Oh the problems with my tractor are just that Sav. Nothing compared to the problems of CBVT. Canadian border VT , we all wish you the best and hope it happens real fast.
state inspector came and said then power company came and said NO main meter disconnect can't have bends in 350 mm (wire size) need to have side bus so lines are straight for frost style that size only 1 type does not have my 8 exterior breakers in outside panel 2 hour delay to switch out main disconnect.. yup gonna start a new thread once this is over... But after electrical fire.. generators running .. 24/7 for 18 days knowing 12 2 wire nutted to circuits in house and male extensions into sockets is NOT to code.. sleep is second to safety.. but we are good But really Gasifier need a tractor that works as bad as I need power!! he has the spoiled ones to take care of
After getting several non tractor things done today I decided to see if I could get any work out of the 3550. It started right up and seemed to be doing fine. I brought the York Rake down to the camp. And it sudddnly started acting up with the same problem. Limp mode anytime I try to do anything. Had to hobble back to the barn going easy on the hydro pedal. Decided to see if it could possibly be an electrical issue. Made sure everything was clean and tight at both battery post. I have had excessive corrosion problems on both post. Replaced the positive terminal (wire) end a while back because that was the worst. I don't know why. Could a battery this new be bad inside? So after cleaning the negative terminal and retightening the new end I put on it recently, I tried it again. Yeah. Started right up and no check engine light on! Moved it out and put backhoe on. No problems. Yeah! Time to go to work and dig a few stumps out. First stump. Sudden power loss after about four or five digs with the hoe. Unbelievable. Could barely get it up a 30 degree incline onto the camp road. Ugh. Hobbled it back to the barn again. Mechanic is suppose to be here tomorrow. I can't seem to get a meeting with the Mahindra representatives.
Man CBVT. I hope you get power hooked up real soon our friend. Do you think you will be on by beginning of next week?
I gotta be on by Friday (mother in law is coming in for a few days) or I am going to be headed to deer camp.. oh and mother in law told me today i/we are hosting thanksgiving so I really need to make house safer for pets visitors.. host thanksgiving without power that ought to be interesting. I mean literally got a power strip in kitchen no microwave. . stove top (propane) but no oven water and hot water but no lights in bathrooms for 8 extra people who are spending night what a great plan...
Friday hoping because so many workers have week off at thanksgiving would be hard to fit me in... they power company keep insisting they get 5 business days to do a new residential service.. I am like this is NOT new service I am an existing customer not a spec build house that is not occupied.. I live here.. so I called public service board
........ tell her to plan on sleeping in the car and having a traditional thanksgiving hot dog cooked on a stick by the fire pit. jeeezz!
It sounds pretty fishy to me!!! This post and your other one above about the frost and the wire bends and such! If the inspector put the sticker on and called in his approval things should be good to go! Around here in your type of situation it’s a 24hour rule for reconnect. You are right on with the PSC complaint
Mechanic came and hooked up computer. Looked to see if it had latest firmware. It does. I explained how it has happened at different times and suddenly. He asked me to see if I could get it to act up. So it took me about 10-15 minutes of running it and it happened just like he said he had seen it happen on a couple other tractors. After it got up to temp and the temperature gage got to about half way or a little more. Bam. Almost complete loss of power and couldn't do anything after that. He said with one tractor he actually had to have them flash it from another place. (Maybe Texas) Apparently they have a slightly modified one because of this problem on "some" tractors. Not keeping it? Hmmm. So he asked me for a power source and said let me try re-installing or re-flashing it with the same, latest one. Maybe it will fix the problem. The computer had it done in about 10-12 minutes or so. So I needed to make sure it would do it again. Temp gage was still up there about half way. I ran it. Back and forth at 2500 rpms up and down the drive way like before. Cycled loader up and down, bucket up and down. Then ran backhoe through its paces. No problems. Did that fix it? Turned engine off and on several times like I did the first time we went through. Ran it back and forth again. Now I've been running it longer, a good bit longer than the first time. Several more minutes. Good power, smooth running. That may have done it. More back and forth. Bam! Spit. Choke. Hesitation. Loss of power. Engine check light back on. Couldn't do anything after that. When he first hooked up computer he could see it was, I can't remember what he called it, but hitting or pinging that pressure relief valve (PRV). He said 29 times. I showed him the fuel cap. He had told me it was the updated one. And told him I was still seeing it collapse the tank. So I would not tighten it down. He said the under side of that is showing it is still collapsing the rubber. He'll replace with a new one. They are coming back to get it within the hour. I told him of all my troubles in a nice and polite way. He is the mechanic. Not his fault. I told him I do not have a problem with the dealership. This is a Mahindra problem and I want to talk to the representative ASAP. Way to much lost time on my projects. And now winter is setting in, snow will be here soon and ground will be freezing up. Soon will be out of time for the ground work. More lost time on my projects. Only so many days off from work. I've lost well over 30 days since the weather was decent enough to start using it this summer after it dried out. Imagine how much I would have done on said projects if I had put 6-8 hours a day on those 30+ days! I want some satisfaction from Mahindra. He is calling rep this afternoon.
I'm far from an expert on this, but it sounds to me like something is telling the tractor's computer to cut engine power and/or dump hydraulic pressure and put it into "limp mode" so it doesn't damage anything mechanical. The good news is it should be an easy fix...the bad news is that the source of that gremlin input may be a beeotch to find.
A gentleman over on tractorbynet explained it that way. Whatever it is it has cost me dearly in time. I only have so many days off from job. So many days of workable weather. So since I had my tractor delivered last February I have been able to put 260 hours on it. I took 260 hours and devided that by 8 hour work days to see how many full days I have had to work it. 260/8=32.5 full days of work. As of today, I have lost right about that amount of days waiting for them to fix my tractor with all the things I have had go wrong with it. 32-33 days I have been unable to do anything with it. That's 50% of the time I could have worked the tractor it has been down. I try to imagine where I would be on my trail projects if I had the tractor working all that time. Now the winter is setting in. Snow will be here and ground will be freezing up. Won't be able to work on them again until things dry up enough next spring or early summer.
I would try to to recoup some of that lost time by requesting a new implement for your tractor once they get it operational. You guys cost me 30 days that I can never get back, but having xxxxx could help me get some of that time back.
Computer plug in to diagnose trouble darn new fangled stuff! I’m partial to removing the copper fuel line and cleaning the screen at the carb then touching up the points with a jewelers file and calling it fixed Hope they get that mess straightened out for you soon! Sounds like they are on the right track it just sucks to be out of a machine that long over probably, hopefully something simple.
that situation sucks to the inth degree. I hear what you are saying about it being Mahrinda's problem as opposed to the dealer. Do they have a "lemon-law" pertaining to tractors and equipment in New York? Since the Mahrinda Rep seems to be doing his best to avoid a meeting, perhaps a state consumer agency can get their attention. Any local news media have one of those problem solver segments you often see? I'd be doing what I could to get Mahrinda a little - "advers"tising
I recently received an further update by e-mail from Mahindra person in Texas. After another complaint I sent to them. Here is what they said: The area service manager will be at the dealer on Wednesday 11/22/2017 to inspect your tractor. He is currently attending school in Houston this week and will not return to his area until Monday. Thanks for your understanding.
Apparently so. This time they will have it for ..... What? 8-9 days I guess. That will put us around 40-41 days without be able to do anything with it.
