image.jpeg We just got this stove and were wondering if anyone had experience running an older parlor stove, it needs a little TLC but it's all there. Looks like we will at least need to source an oval to round stove pipe adaptor and I'll have to cut the firewood down In size to fit the smaller firebox.
Would love to hear some of your guys/gals opinions and experience with stoves like this one

With the air vents below the firebox isn't that a coal stove?

The guy i got it from said it can also be used with coal, or wood, the door also has a vent in it, im not very familiar with coal stove operation. I also assume ill need sometype of draft control in the stove pipe as the stove itself doenst have any

Cool stove - my grandfather had an old pot belly stove which was pretty ornate too. The fancy "cap" on the top came off revealing a burner for cooking.

Is one also has that feature, it's a pretty cool looking old stove, I'm glad we have been able to restore it

I can get it to hold a fire for about 8 hours with about 15 lb of nut coal. Trying to learn how to throttle it better, it really starts to drive you out of the house.

I had a Harman Mark 3 stove at our last house. It ate a 5 gallon bucket of nut coal over 3 feedings per day. About 8 hours heat from a feeding so your results sound pretty good. I'm sure it did cook you out, ours was in the basement and it heated the whole house. Even kept second floor 60-65 when it was 15 outside
