Good day to top up the wood in the basement. Drove around to the wood door... And unloaded. I brought three loads around to make up for what I've burned so far this Fall. You can see the insulated wood door leaning up against the brown jackpost on the lower right. I'll do this every two or three weeks until mid December or so. It depends on the snow really.
Nice setup, great pics. It looks like it was a great day to work outside there, it was a great day in the trees here today!
It stayed below freezing all day but it was nice with no wind. Looks like a lot of meat in that trunk!
It was a nice day for yard and firewood work but I got rooked into Christmas shopping at LLbeans and getting a Costco card at Costco. LL beans s is next Lofts and another store I didn't go into and Costco is next to Ikea. Afternoon was shot. As above, cold but little wind so it was nice.
I haven't moved any wood to the garage yet. I like to get a few nights of freezing temps before I bring wood into house. We've had 3 at this point so I'll probably start stocking up this week sometime.
Thanks Hammy. It's also nice to load the furnace with room temp. wood in the middle of January instead of frozen ice blocks. And if you say you brought the wood in a week ago so it's now room temp; how much wood did you burn to bring it up to that temp?
Agreed. We keep almost the entire winters wood in the basement next to the furnace. I put a cord in about a month ago and will see if I can fit the other 5 in this week. Might be a half cord shy for room so may have to keep it outside for another month or so. After that we won’t load Wood in until next Fall.
I'm the same way, Joe. I'll probably bring up the first half-cord into the garage stoop sometime this weekend.
Not yet. Close, but not yet. We don't need the meat so I am simply holding out for a big one. Almost got a chance but not yet.
