Buddy of mine dropped off some rubber roofing to me last week. Two pieces each 20 feet long and 4 feet wide. Perfect width for my two row stacks. Been telling me he was gonna get me some for a while but I totally forgot, came home one day and it was laying in my driveway. Just threw it over my stacks yesterday. Nice and heavy so it shouldn’t blow around too much and gonna last way longer than tarps. Anyone else using rubber for their top cover?

That's a great buddy right there! Your going to love it and it should last a lifetime. I use it also..

I found that it takes a lot of weight on it to keep it from blowing off on my stacks. Not sure why since it so heavy to begin with?

Yes indeed. Heavy as it is, when you get those strong and/or swirling winds, it will blow off almost like a tarp. Note, I said almost...

yup - My niece's husband works in the construction/roofing business, and has gotten me some in the past. Excellent to use as top covers.

You might be surprised how easily that will blow up ad uncover your wood. You might want to weigh it down. It is heavy, but has a lot of surface area for the wind to lift it off.

I use it during the winter months al the time and mostly on the leftover wood during the summer months.

A few chunks spaced along the top of it takes care of any wind concerns.

Works fine, lasts a long time. We weight it down with chunks, cinder blocks and bricks.

Wow, that’s a good run, almost 20 years now! I got some chunks up there now so it shouldn’t blow away. I never really used any top cover(until I brought wood for that season up to house) and wood was always good to go after 3 years but I have one rack that’s under a tree in a shady spot so this should help with that rack.

There is a gravel pit near me that gives away the old conveyor belt. It's heavy, but doesn't blow off the small stacks we keep for our fire ring.

We had some of that from a old grain elevator. Most of the driveways at out cottages used to be all sand and we would put those down so people didn’t get stuck. Had them for as long as I can remember growing up. Will never forget having to drag them out of the way so dad could level the sand with the tractor and then I would drag them back. They were heavy for a little guy.
