There is no possible way that i could have that pile of wood anywhere near me with out it driving me crazy. Id have to process it. I wouldnt be able to focus on anything else lol...jeez as i was typing this i thought ..maybe my wife is right, maybe i do have a problem. Lol...but then again my hoarding heats the house all winter soooo. Very nice ibob. Im jealous.
All processed and under cover. When spring has sprung I will move this pile to pallet shelters. I managed a small score this morning. Got me some cherry, plum and willow all reading for splittin' and stacking. That can wait...for now! Looking at the image, would someone be able to give me a rough estimate of wood stacked? 1 cord? Cheers! Bob
Looks good. Standard pallets are 48" x 40", you also look a bit under 4' high. I'd guess 3/4 of a cord or so assuming they are standard sized pallets and they are completely covered. I like how you put the pallets on stringers. It definitely helps keep them from rotting and I think also helps the bottoms of your stacks to dry. If you run those stringers so that the corners and middles of the pallets are supported they tend to do better. You have some pretty serious sag on the left side.
If it is one row of 16" splits on two 48" pallets it's a "face cord" or 1/3 cord 8 x 4 x 1.3 feet = 41.6 cu ft if it is on 40" pallets it's 34.6 cu ft or 0.27 of a cord or roughly 1 cubic meter
Doh! Just noticed that!! I'm hoping she lasts until the spring. Cos I ain't unpacking that lot if I can help it. BB
Prop something under that corner to keep it from sagging more than it is. Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
Is that a face cord? If so, would the fix be considered a ....... face lift? Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
