Fold down wood ramps for a trailer?

Has anyone tried something like this?
Swivel clasps to hold it up have some play. Does anything else work better?
Comments?

 

How much weight do you think those hinges can take?

 

They are the biggest steel hinges lowes has. The ends of the 2x6s push against the trailer and also help spread the load, Not sure what do you think?

I have my ramps held by brackets on the sides of the trailer. This allows them to be the same length as the trailer.
I have ramparts brackets on the ends of the ramp to rest on the bed of the trailer, or the sides.
I also use the ramps to roll large rounds onto the splitter

 

This also allows me to use the ramps for stairs when moving furniture

The fasteners will fail before the hinges..............based on the size of the trailer, the trailer will fail before the hinges.
So, in conclusion the hinges will not fail.

 

These 2x6s work good too!!

 

Hello
Decided to expand the length of the ramps but not the height! So far it works great with the little latch hook to keep them from banging on the highway.

Also the gate latches broke so I had to beef them up!

I am not doing very heavy stuff, no cars or heavy vehicles so it should work for what I want.

 

I'm assuming you used carriage bolts to fasten the boards to the hinges.

I would guess, IF it fails, the bolts will pull through the wood under heavy load.
The load is not sitting on the hinge, the load is hanging on the bolts. I would guess, over time as the boards dry out and crack near the ends, this will be the weak point.
