    Let the fire go out
    Clear blue sunny skies.
Opened all the S and W facing curtains. I'll let solar gain keep the place warm today.

26 here this morning first real frost of the year.... finally! :D Should finish knocking the leaves off the trees hopefully before the snow starts since there’s still quite a few green ones. Bad news I’m home sick today, good news is I just shoveled out the stove and fired it up!!! :faint::fire: Got a bunch of ash and maple uglies going 71 in the living room where the stoves at.

Nice stove and set up! :DI’m jealous of you guys with free standers. I’ve got an insert and not really anywhere to put a free standing set up.

28 or so early, 35 now. Pine burning. I think I'll bring in a little Maple and Ash for the few colder nights we have coming up.

Sounds like the weather moving in will hit this evening. Snow, dropping temps, wind. The snow from the first blast did melt, but never melted completely. Usually, our first snow all melts. Being this late in the year for us, I'm sure is why it never disappeared. Our first snow was two weeks ago, I think.

Here is a pic I took yesterday showing the amount of snow and small snowbanks along a highway.

This nest one is from last week before Halloween.

And these next two are from the first snow.

I traded the corolla for the truck yesterday as I had to haul some tools from the cottage. Spose the corolla stands a chance of getting snowed in for the winter now!

Calm and -14 C ( 6 F) at the moment, poplar and a random piece of ash feeding the machine. Maybe I'll go chop a hole in the slough to see how many inches of ice we have. It was 2 inches a few days ago.

Don't worry. He has plenty. They just aren't down yet and he can't seem to burn enough to keep up with what comes down!  It's okay Zap as many would love that situation.
