Many hours trying to catch up with this buck. Finally happened Sunday. Saw him run a field edge to within 80 yards of me, only to hook a right turn and disappear around 715. He snuck up on me from behind an hour and a half later as I watched that field. First sign he was around was a snap from under 10 yards. Walked by the stand at 10 yards. Entry was back a little bit more than I hoped, but the exit was 3 inches above brisket through the leg behind the bone. Let him go 90 minutes and snuck up where I thought he laid down. Jumped him. Waited 4 hours and returned to find he was 60 yards away and died on the run. Caught liver and some lung. Strong animal. Dressed at 175 lbs.

Nice to see you care Boss! Long hours put in over the summer, like 70 a week. I look at like I prepaid all the hours in the tree this fall. I would say I was in a tree for 125 hours or so. Gonna have to get some firewood ready soon! High in the 50s next week.

Great looking buck. You process him yourself? What type of tips you using on your arrows? (son in law and daughter hunt with bows, crossbows, black powder, gun and handgun seasons) as well as turkey and duck and goose and fishing) lol!

I process myself. Using old school Muzzy 125 fixed 3 blade heads on 65/80 carbon Cabelas arrows. Upgraded the bow this year due to a cracked limb on my 15 year old Martin. Went to a PSE Evolve 31 with drop away rest and Tru-glo green dot sight. I have never been able to shoot groups like I can now. My limit is 35 yards, but I routinely practice to 60 yards and keep the group under 8 inches at that range.

Congrats on a great buck! Got some good mass to him! I shot a nice 6 two weeks ago and still have a few good bucks on camera. Hoping things heat up around here shortly. Taking a few days off this coming week and the next.
