I just emailed Lorin about reserving a production unit.

Yep, I'll be putting my money where my big mouth is. I'm sold on this stove.

Dave, don't forget when we got rid of our Ashley and bought a Fireview, we cut down our wood needs by 50%. Actually though, it was even greater than that when you figure how warm we keep our house now and that we no longer close off any rooms. In addition, we did put an addition on so are heating a lot more space. So don't think you will not gain a lot with a new stove because you will.

I wonder if these are today's numbers? I was on the pre-order list 3 weeks ago and back then I was number 5. No matter, it's all good.

3:07 PM yesterday. Lorin had the specs I initially wanted, but after seeing their "the Works" package, it was less than $30.00 to go all in. Not sure about a rapid delivery on this because of all the choices on colors and metal designs. That hand't been factored into the initial decision as I had first opted for "basic black".

It's amazing how many impulse purchase you can make when you've had a bunch of beers

Sorry guys, golf66 was the first to place a deposit on the Ideal Steel, but order # 2,3,4,5,6,7... are just as important!
Keep any questions coming and we'll do our best to answer. Some details we're still figuring out so bear with us.

Although I was hoping for a little lower price, that's not a bad deal, all in.
Still thinking, and my wife still says as long as the new one has a window, she's gooder with it.
The window's the easy part.

I really like how carefully Woodstock listens to their customers, even random posts on a forum like this.

These comments are from the thread Comparing the Ideal Steel to Progress Hybrid:

IDEAL STEEL Hybrid Catalytic Temperature Probe

We’ve added a port for a catalytic temperature probe just above the center of the loading door. The probes are simple bimetallic coils attached to a stainless rod. We have been testing the bimetallic probe against a thermocouple: it’s certainly “in the ballpark” and gives a good idea of catalyst light-off.

So, the cat temp probe will be an option, or standard fare?
I'll just go to WS and keep refreshing the page.:D
    Seriously, I'm going right now.

The port for a catalytic temperature probe looks to be standard. The buyer would probably need to purchase the probe.

    Kinda what I thought.
I'd go with one from Woodstock first.

    Ah ha!

Nothing like seeing a good idea come to fruition.

Just got off the phone, my moneys down.

Unrelated, anyone want to buy a classic VC intrepid?
