had a local gal mention shehad a lot of trees down on her 400 acres. I jumped at the chance to haul some nice oak. ended up pulling a truck/trailer load home twice and cut some more, waiting for me to pick it up.
Nice haul, have to love that good contact. When folk like your contact gave me land access. I would always give them frozen turkey for each holiday. The wife's were always happy. The investment of turkeys were well worth the price of admission. She may keep you coming back to clean up firewood.
I was racking my brain to think of a gift card, etc for this gal. She takes care of her mom and is 65. Has enough money to likely buy whatever she wants/needs. Usually i drop a six pack EACH time I cut at a guy's place and always get invited back.
With Thanksgiving around the corner a gesture with a holiday them, may leave her with the impression that you cared enough to give a thoughtful nice thing for them. Some times it seems you cant win with a gift, it is analyzed. Good luck.
My best access I ever had, the farmer kept being non committal, with check back later. So one day I had the hair brained idea to bring a frozen turkey to Mrs. Farmer. I told her that I had asked the Mr. for access and brought the turkey as a Thank you and sorry for wasting his time. She took the turkey, invited me inside for coffee, had pie. She said lets go find the Mr. and jumped in her Gator. We found him, she asked me to stay seated, a few minutes later, I had friends. They turned out to be great friends. I started by cutting firewood. They had some timber cut and the logger left a mess of tops. My first load was to their porch, next day I came back they fed me, and brought a tractor to help me out. I cut their wood, before mine, they were so surprised, as this was not part of the clean up. The 6-7 years of awesome, then I got transferred. Was a cool deal for sure.

Here was a load from today. I cut twice this much and finished the tree that was furthest away from her house. I grilled her a bit about ideas, shes pretty simple country folk and has the money to buy whatever she could desire. She doesn't drink alcohol, tea coffee, doesn't eat sweets and only eats her own meat she raises. Self proclaimed health nut. Ill likely do a nice gift card to tsc or a organic food shop nearby. She was head over heals I actually showed up, closed gates, cleaned up and respected her property. Got invited to hunt some hogs as well! Great day.
I cant help you out with the health nut thing. Sounds like your on the right track, she seems happy. You may be the best gift you can give her.
They sound like great folks. Actually, sound like very typical "country" folks. I think you are spot on with the gift card idea. Or even perhaps if she needs a hand with some simple fixing of something?
