Gonna swap out the old for the new this weekend.
New ones are General Altimax Arctic/ studded. I've never run these before but the deal I got from Tire Rack...I had to pick them up. (I normally run Winterforce/studded).

Anyone run these? Anyone else swapped out for winter tires yet?

I ran the General Altimax unstudded on a couple of vehicles several years back. I really like them.

I put my wifes BF Goodrich Winter Slalom's on her car last weekend and put my Firestone Winterforce LT's on my truck yesterday.

The summer tires on my commuter is starting to get bald and one has a slow leak. A buddy at work traded his car in and kept his winterforces. They are a little small for my car but the rim size is right and so was the price:D now to find the time to get them on...

Nope never run them we aren't allowed studded tires on MI roads. I've ran general grabbers before and wasn't impressed at all. They popped a cord or something inside after about 15,000 miles and by 25,000 all 4 had been replaced. Same issue with good year wrangler tires Goodyear wrangler is probably the worst tires we have ever ran.

Best tires I have had where firestone winterforce, copper discover, treadwright guard dogs and wild country.

We currently have Nokian ordered from Amazon on sale $69 free ship installed on the trailblazer they hold the road like glue but are very soft tires.

The silverado has the wild country by Cooper and they are hard as nails and grab good in the mud and snow.

    No Kidding?
My cousin bought a 1985 Ford Ranger 4x4 brand new, it came with Wranglers. Now, he is not an aggressive driver at all, and stays on top of maintenance, but he had 125,000 (not a typo) miles on them before they needed replaced...incredible!
I was impressed with the traction that Blizzaks provided, for a non studded tire anyways...

November 1st we always "put em' on". Am running Toyo Ice Tires on both buggies, stud less, as the "idiots" running the province won't allow them, even though it is legal to run studded tracks on Snow Machines. That's "Critical Thinking" at it's finest.

No Kiddong total garbage we had two sets on our 05 blazer p235 75 15 and both blew cords and bulged on all 4 tires. Just cheap tires which is admittedly why we bought them.... $80 a tire installed on the last set.

That's pretty sweet millage 125K I don't wait that long usually it's every two years or so for tires because the drive to Lansing and back is over 300 miles a week for the wife. That doesn't count any weekend driving she wants to do.:hair:

Had to put my winters on last week of Sept for annual inspection. Summers were almost bald. I only drive about 50 miles a week so no big deal getting them on early. 10 out of the 14 on my triaxle have been swapped out for winters. 1 more axle to swap and I'll be ready.

All seasons on the corolla )just got new ones) stay on there all year long. If I need winter tires due to the weather, I use the truck.

I realize your conditions are just "a tad bit more demanding", but these have worked well in the past and should continue just as well during a lower traveling retirement life. (Did I just jinx myself?)

I bought 4 dunlaps in the 90's, one by one 3 of the 4 sprang a cord or sidewalls bubbled. Place replaced the tires, but 2 of the 3 they did the broke the lugnut off. So, a trip to the mechanic to get it drilled out and replaced. So 7 trips for one set of stupid Dunlops.

And also, I too ran studded snows every winter, all season in the summer.

They are a good tire! I've used them a bunch!

The Mrs needs some snows. She got by last year with an all season but they are close to the wear bars now.
Thought you were smarter than That Dave?:p

Honestly..Probably better off with the all seasons on the Camry than those on a pickup.
Mud tires function are the complete opposite of snow tires.
Snow tires trap snow in the tread to gain traction
Mud tires try to clean out to gain traction.

It's like using a soup spoon to cut a steak...

It's been so long since we've had snow tires I don't remember the last time. However, we are considering putting some on this winter. Not sure which ones yet.

Talked to a tire man a couple nights ago and he says they had a run on snow tires last week. He was surprised at how many they sold for this early in the season. Maybe he was trying to tell me something.

Backwoods Savage call Young’s in Owasso see if they still have good sales. They had very good deals on tires last year I think he cost me 65 a tire on the S 10 for Firestone winter Force. That has to be one of the best winter tires we have had.

The one accross from Walmart not the used lot farther down. The used lot is a joke. Service at the New lot is very good.....

I just put new wranglers on my 4runner a couple of months ago...235/75/15. It had over 230k on it at the time so I wanted cheap. With price matching, discounts, and rebates I think it was under $300 total. Fingers crossed.

This will be the 4th or 5th year with those A/T MS tires on the truck (s) and I am very pleased with the performance I get from them.

A lot better than the "normal" radial truck tires that you'll find on the new trucks for traveling of pavement. I have no regrets with them.

    yet.

Just got these this summer and put them on a couple of weeks ago. I had twelve winters on my old ones so went with the same thing again.

Putting the snows on the car is one of the jobs for next weekend. Could hold off longer, but have to get things done before deer season!
