Traffic is a mess down there tonight, lot's of construction. Best to keep the hands on the wheel if they're driving.
Or.. the kitten went rogue, stuck them in the trunk and is heading for Albuquerque. It happens....

Thanks J, I was not keen on asking my 75 y/o father to go to DIA on Halloween, but WWW did and my dad was more than happy to help. They have to be OK because the cat transporter has not texted me. And, both of the them answer eachothers phone frequently. But. (yes, we paid a man to carry the cat on board, not in cargo).

BTW, my childhood dog was from a family my father knew from Boulder that moved to Cal and we all had fallen in love with that lil dog, they got there and could not keep her and shipped her to us cargo -yep, luggage carriers lost her and she went to Florida instead, we finally got her the next day.

ETA: Cat Transporter just texted back, he said my Dad and his wife were fine an hour ago and they have the kitten. Maybe their phones are off for some (who knows) reason.

Ooo... not good. Alert the Albuquerque PD, need a BOLO now. Type of vehicle, color, thumping noises from trunk.
Kittens won't text back, it's not what they do.

Naww, they're just butt heads. They won't even bother to hit the "ignore" button. Probably already pulled the car over 12 times just to go out, then get back in.
It's gonna be a long drive to New Mexico.

That's a cover story.....from the kitten. Alert the BOLO, lives could be at stake. That kitten is not to be trusted.

About 4 years ago, one of my daughters took in a rescue dog from the south. Now, in Maine, it cost about $300 or more to adopt these rescued animals being brought here from high kill shelters out of state. Things were Ok for the most part. (Aside from normal vet bills and having to replace the living room furniture three times.)
Last Pm this dog started acting sick. Not better this morning, my daughter, an RN, took the dog to an emergency vet in Scarborough ME. a 60 mile drive. They couldn't find what was the problem but went from an infection, kidney failure, auto immune problem maybe. Not sure, abnormal labs. Ordered more test. bill so far, $2300. Call this PM. Not better, will start on antibiotics. wait and see. Oh, and for tomorrow, another $2000. Prognosis is too early to know one way or another. Daughter's husband is in Afghanistan, and her kids are away to college. What a mess. Dog is about 6 yrs old. I can't figure out why it cost so much but choices sure seem limited.

I hope things work out in the end. Its a shame costs are so high and there are still problems. Hopefully they get to the bottom of it. So hard sometimes to find the problem when our furry friends can't talk. Good luck - can't be easy for her

thanks, yes it is very hard on her. She isn't rich but she can pay her bills. If she loses her fur friend right now, well... Lets just hope her fur friend pulls through this. She has another dog at home, as well as three cats. They help keep her sane while her husband is deployed.

The toe grabber keeps flip-flopping around as she gets too hot. Her tongue is hanging out too.

Emergency vet centers are extremely expensive compared to regular vet clinic - at least in my area that is the case.

In last two quilling incidents that required vet attention, one was regular vet ~$150, the other after hours emergency vet ~$600.
