Good morning, coffee is on and the temps gonna' be 50's and cloudy.
Installed ball joints on The Great White Hope last evening with the help of a buddy and his ball joint press. I'm getting too old for working off jack stands!
Need to replace the "track bar" and tune up the brakes and the old beater should be red eye to go!
(no fishes were chased nor caught while werking on the beat rig)
    Be safe. Peace.

Frosty this morning. Too dark to see what the day will bring but I hope it is sunshine again. Lots of chores to get done today and I finally made a haircut appointment. Long hair is not for me anymore. I am able to walk great now so I guess it is back to work on Monday. I will get my stitch out on Monday as well. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Question about the horse barn, you have all the doors on and Windows in?
And acquaintance lost his barn to our wind storm. He had open bays. Wind got in and took it away. Good size building too. 70+ mph winds too much for anything that can catch the wind.

If you do, they might grab you by the neck! Just hook one leg and you have them. Bring them to you and grab both legs and carry them to where you want them.

Horse stall doors on the back of barn are not on yet. We have a good amount of trees behind the barn and through the property that help to reduce the wind. But they have been thinned out now that harvesting is done.

Well I'm getting some odds and ends done around the house and am now starting on building the wall of the "office" in the barn. This is across from the tack room. So I decided we will put the chickens in the bay or stall next to the office. This way if I get the office wall studs up and then put up 1x10 or 1x12 Amish lumber for the sheeting that will be one of the walls to the chicken enclosure. (Two birds with one stone.)

The 3550 moving around some timber.
IMG_3420.JPG One of these is being cut to length for the base of said wall.

The little Echo 361P needed a sharper chain put on it, but did it make this triple 2X8 timber seem like light duty with that sharp chain on it.:saw:

Since it was real wet out, I burned up a bunch of roots, smaller stumps, branches and some pine.

The batteries on the camera were dead so I only took two with the phone. 20171103_113655.jpg

So much stuff to do around here, one of the very last decent weekends here weather-wise. Craft fair for the rural fire dept out here tomorrow, install door for the wildcat and hoping I can fumble through and program her microchip correctly, same thing with the cistern low water level alarm. Of course the majority of the heavy labor is up to WWW unfortunately. Also WWW's going to foam the sliding glass door again. So many other things but they need to wait. Packing up to head over to the bus stop to pick up lil one in 10 minutes.

I finally had some light of day me time this week, so I started putting in the new leaf gaskets for the casement windows. Got one done, but then it didnt want to close. So I took the window back out and pounded the seals in a bit harder. Still didnt want to close. So I did the only logical thing at that point. I alternated between cranking, and going out to push it closed until it was sealed tight. Then I closed the locks and told my wife that we dont open that window anymore.  She was less than amused, but at least I fixed the draft on the window that leaked the worst, and right behind where I sit!

Caffeine going in, boiler fed, dogs fed, time for me to be fed.

Then I will be off to work on the inside of the barn again. The weather looks like it will be nice to work in today. One day of rain today, then back to rain the next two days. :picard:Oh well, at least it won't be snow. I hope.

coffee is in, stove is starting to warm the house back up, and I am relaxing for a few until my 3yo wakes up. Gonna let mama sleep in a bit and she will join me on some errands. She loves to go to the dump and shake the workers there down for a lollipop.

Maybe I will throw a sword in the car and go and do battle with Midwinter for the the best dump wood after.

LOTS of yard cleanup to do too.

If you are EVER going to go, today is the day. If you really score, you can use my yard for temporary storage. Hours today are 8-1.

I took a ride through late yesterday afternoon on my way home from work just to scout it out. There were 4 people dumping brush and I passed another 2-3 on my way out.

How many other people do you encounter scrounging there?

There's a vet in his 70's named Maurice that's a regular. He only goes for the small stuff. Nice guy, his dad was a lumberjack in Merrimack, and his two sons do chimney/masonry as a business.
There is at least one other scrounger, a fit-looking bald guy I saw yesterday, dragging oak chunks way too big for me, and throwing them in his pickup. That's about it. Be prepared for free advice about not burning pine!

rofl I'll be sure to tell them that I LOVE pine, of all the wood I burn, nothing burns better right after you cut it down.
