I was trying to do a search for something that I don’t believe google can figure out. Its just getting dumb so I need to describe a machine to you guys. If any of you or your father’s recall those machines that played an adult movie or stag film that had a crank? You looked in there and would play a couple of things with a bunch of photos on a rolodex type? Just trying to remember this name as its not often heard today. Thanks!
Yes and I even saw one on the restoration guy that sometimesPawn shop was restoring things with too. For the life of me Im just hoping someone knows the name of it.
Not quite but similar concept. It was like a view finder with a big brass look hole or goggle like thing. Big box. It was like a penny machine and big brass crank. Little boys stood on apple crates to peek!
I think we have a winner... interesting how an advertising card in 1899 shows a lady viewing. Hm. Not that this was frowned upon but certainly a sight to see if a woman was looking in, fanning herself. Whoah.
Actually there was another one made much later but I don't know when. But I do remember many moons ago when a guy came to our office and tried to sell it along with some movies. We kicked him out. Anyway, it played a really good video and you just turned a crank so no electric was needed.
Yeah these were pretty simple machines and often they had light that was reflected from outsidr to light the pictures via mirrors. Then sometimes some music was played when you turned the crank depending on what movie it was. Film noir was common for these as well.
