I have been chainsawing like a mad man, and i find out it was too much for me to handle with my liitle quad and woodwagon. So i called a friend with a big machine to come and help me get it out of the wood and put next to my house. Well i can say this realy helped me a lot, i am so thank full.
There is only one problem, i only got about 10% of all the wood down now, and there is lot more standing. :)
Seems i got some more work for a couple of weeks i think!
Here some pics for u wood porn lovers!

    Have a nice day all!

Heavy Equiptment sure makes a big job easier, your lucky to have a friend with a big machine, Duvekot . You have yourself a great place there, and plenty of wood to cut.

That's a great pic right there, DaveGunter would be proud. Is that a wheel made out of round piece of wood on the barrow? If so, very nice indeed.

    Hej hej all,

To be honest i just started with wood sawing and burning, i am what u call a total amateur!
Dont have a clue what the name of all the wood is, i only know birch an pine!
Its the same with my wood gathering sawing and splitting, just learning along the way.
First time i hold a motorsaw in my hands is 3years ago, and still i am learning how to saw down trees.
In the last 3years made a lot of mistakes with what i think is called widdow makers trees.
Firts of all i am still affraid of the chainsaw , and i dont think thats bad since it is a very dangers tool!
Thats why i like this site, it gives me a lot of ideas and tips how to handle things.
But like i said before i am still learning everyday.

    Have a nice day all

You are very right to be scared of the potential dangers of the chainsaw.

Too many experienced loggers have lost their lives......

    Hej hej all,

Still i got a lot of questions:

When u stack splitt wood is it better with the bark up or down?

Does wood dry more faster if u cut it in blocks or whole logs?

What is the best way to keep logs good over the winter time ( from the ground up i know) but do i need to cover it also?

When u stack blocks, is it better standing up or lay then on the sides?

Thats all just for now more questions will come i know!

Thank for helping me out guys!

    1: Probably doesn't matter.
2: Blocks will dry faster than logs, but best drying is split & stacked with good airflow.
3: I don't worry about covering until the wood is split & stacked. Logs up off the ground will keep fine.
4: Lay the blocks on their sides off the ground. End grain tends to absorb moisture more easily than the bark side.

Nice work on the wood gathering, & I love the wheel barrow wheel!
