Got my new truck yesterday

Got a 2 inch lift on the front.

 

That truck is way too clean.

They say moto metal, I dunno they was on the truck when I bought it.

New edition to the truck, came in yesterday and I put it on this morning. works great. easy getting in and out. my winch and guard will be here next week. i'll put them on when they get here.

 

Ordered one of these today, fumoto oil valve. I checked the oil and it's pretty black so I'm changing it. I have one of these valves on the old truck, been on there for 17 years. these things are nice.

Quick question..... I see that your truck has safety chain loops through the bed by the gooseneck hitch point. Was that factory in 2014 or added on? My 2017 doesn't have them and thinking about switching to a gooseneck for equipment hauling. Pretty sure the 2017 uses some that pin into the back 2 5th wheel mounts???

 

It was installed with the gooseneck hitch. it's not a factory part. Think it's B&W hitch. there's a lever under the fender to take the gooseneck out I didn't need it so took it out and on the shelf in the barn. they also had a connection for lights on the side, I put the tool box over it. may have to remove the box if ever get a fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer.

 

Ok. It looked like the factory 5th wheel/gooseneck package setup. Didn't realize there was something added underneath.

That was added after it left the factory, I believe. Maybe in 2014 they built them differently?

Either way..... sweet truck! What kinda mileage you getting? The "lie 'o' meter" on my dash runs around 21mpg. Calculating it at the pump is closer to 20mpg. That's without pulling a trailer of course.

 

Hadn't checked it but the meter says about 17 mostly. with the oversize rims and tires I doubt it's getting that. I do have a lead foot though.

 

Tires and a heavy foot will do that.

 

Take your fender flares to the body shop and have them painted; and THEN put them on the truck. Since the shop didn't have to cover/tape off my truck, painting my fender flares only cost me $75!!!

 

Probably gonna leave em black, they kinda go with the rims and other black parts. but I get what you're sayin about takin em off first to paint. cheaper on labor for taping off that way.
