Motor homes can be great but this is taking it just a tad too far methinks.

I don't know backwoods. If you're worth a lot of money and decide to sell your house and travel the rest of your life you might as well do it comfortably.
My older brother who is single now just retired last year from driving bus in a major city up here. Sold his house in the city and bought a 2017 Ram 1 ton diesel and a big fifth wheel trailer. He can spend six months out of the province and still retain his health care so he's currently in the Nevada/Arizona area enjoying good weather. He'll make his way back here next spring and set up at his lot near here with electric hook up, sewer and well.
Then go back down south next fall.
Sounds like a good idea to me.

I think you brother is enjoying his lifestyle just fine for a lot less than 2.5 mill. That motorhome is just covered in a sopping pile of ego with way too many trinkets and gidgets for the average man with any common sense. I agree with Dennis, it is definitely designed for somebody with more money than brains.

If I could afford that I'd just buy a boat.

At 2.5 mill you could stay at $250 a night hotels for every night for 27 years! Add the upkeep, diesel, insurance and the cost of campgrounds you’re probably talking 40 years.

I agree the motorhome makes no economic sense but I can see people with a lot of money not batting an eye at buying one.
Actor John Travolta owns several jets with the biggest being a Boeing 707 which he's licensed to fly and does.
Harrison Ford also has at least one jet and several smaller planes which he's licensed to fly.
They're both passionate about flying and can afford to indulge themselves in their hobby. I can see the same thing with someone wealthy who loves to drive yet have all the conveniences of home. To each his own.

My wife and I want to either travel around in a motorhome or a boat in winters when we retire. You know, snowbird style.

But yeah, that particular RV is too much. I've seen some really nice RVs at my aunt's campground, but that thing is just stupid.

If I owned a motorcoach manufacturing company, I would gladly build a ridiculously overpriced, over the top unit just for the bazillionaire that has to have the gadgets, trinkets and ego satisfying luxury.... Because the profit margin would also be ridiculously over the top!:zip:

......not to mention the massive amount of depreciation on your investment. Unlike real estate, those things suck your$$$$$ down the depreciation hole like no tomorrow.

There's apparently no end to ways rich folk choose to blow money... at least they can actually "use" that RV. How about the most expensive item ever auctioned... "Pablo Picasso's 1955 painting, Les femmes d'Alger (Version O), sold for $179,365,000 at Christie's auctionhouse in New York in 2015." ... :makeitrain"

For a painting... :picard:... :rofl: :rofl:

Lol. Kinda like how he flew in the original "Indiana Jones" movie.

Hey, any landing you can walk away from is a good one. Lol

I have a small tag along. For a while, we liked it. Now it just sits in the back yard. One of the kids will most likely take it some time. Ended up being too much work for me to enjoy it. Every place we went wasn't near as comfortable as home. Esp. in wet weather. prefer now to have a fire in the back yard pit and sit in our yard furniture. We we go camping, we are right on top of each other. Here, there is NO ONE. I moved about alot when I was younger with kids, now I am just a old home body with little desire to pack up and go.

I'd like to travel cross country haphazardly in one, even a 2.5 million one, but I think if I had 2.5 million I'd expand my traveling beyond its reach.
I've seen some pretty fancy pickups that cost way too much and when ya gots that much money its not about money any more. Sometimes its just about the best of the best.
