Certainly not to outdo HDRock   but we were out of power twice this week. The second time was last night we were off for about 4 1/2 hours or a little more. This is getting to be a bad habit with our power company. Perhaps we should approach them for a contract to clear some lines?

Pretty rare for power to be out here even in stormy weather .
There were no trees anywhere around where the power co was working the other night .

No fire yet today but had one for sure last night. House is cooling off now so it won't be long before we get one going. Probably I'll let my wife light one after I go out hunting in another hour or so.

This is the warmest Oct. I can ever remember. It is in the mid 60's here, and was in the 70's the last couple of days. No fires but we got <close> to hitting the A/C a few days back. :bug:

Snow and spotty rain at the moment, 0 C, and up to 80 km wind and 10 cm snow possible later...can someone remind me why I live here again?

    Hi Dan

There are one or two others as well from RI around here besides us.

We could not be very far from each other anyway (RI is only about 30W X 40H miles, with a big bay in the middle of that) but it turns out we are 'town neighbors'; I am in Coventry, just south of you. In fact, I use the Scituate (Hope) post office as it is a lot closer to me than the Coventry P.O.

the sun came out and it stopped raining this morning.

    Back to freezing tonight, though.

Gonna have to disconnect the water at the cottage tomorrow.....:(.....20's coming up.

I prefer cans in my boat though. Bottles at home, cans in the boat.

We're Labrador people here at my house too.

Sean , yeah Whistler it's a pretty cool place. We need to get back there sometime.

It was 40 degrees earlier this morning before I went to have breakfast with my Dad. Visiting with him now.

No fire yet, but got some firewood moved in under the porch yesterday. Today I should get a good bit more moved. Less interruptions today, I hope! LOL

Headed for 57 today same as yesterday. Let yesterday mornings fire go out as it was 75 inside when I got home. Still siting at 71 with an outside temp of 40 this morning. Won't light another fire till I get home tonight.

You're going to chooch yourself out of the house with hickory this early for shoulder season wood. We don't even have a fire going tonight, even though I probably should have lit one. I'll use pine, polpar, box elder, or elm for that. Save the hickory for really cold. You've got to have some lower btu stuff, no?
