Did you get to run it since it came back?

 

Yes. I tossed some manure and hay around, stirring up the pumpkin patch and leveling it off. That's it though. I am trying to get some stuff done in barn for the boss.

 

What caused the Check Engine Light to come on?

 

Don't know. That won't come back on. Only time it came on was when the hydraulic "bogging down" happened. But they couldn't duplicate that. Guy over on TBN said it probably needs a re-flash? If I remember that right. Now I need to ask the mechanic if he did that or not.

 

I remembered I have to wait to run the tractor until Dave fixes the steering problem with it.

It needs a new hydraulic piston! I've contacted Mahindra and they say there is nothing they can do. The dealer is the only one who can do anything. Dealer says he will continue to fix my tractor. I asked Mahindra to please replace my tractor then. This tractor is obviously not capable of doing what Mahindra said it's capable of doing. If you go to current website and look up 3550 it says,

"These premium performers offer super-powered 4WD and the gusto to go after medium to heavy-duty agriculture, industrial or other applications."

 

So I spoke with a Mahindra person out of Texas who responded to my complaint on their web portal. She said Mahindra does not do any buying or selling. There is nothing they can do. Only one who can do anything is dealer. I told her dealer won't buy back or exchange my tractor for one that can handle the work. Unbelievable.

I placed a call to her boss today. She called me back. I asked to speak to him. Please hold. Oh he is still out to lunch sir.

So then I asked her to tell him everything I have told her and ask him to call me. And to get a message to local service representative about my problems.

 

The dealer repairing it is fine right now but what about after the warranty is up?

Are you paying to have it hauled to the dealer and for service calls?

Hate to see this. All tractors have issues somewhere along the line, but I was hoping that Mahindra's "toughest tractors on Earth" slogan had some weight to it.

 

Her boss called me back. He is going to discuss with dealer and get regional representatives involved. I suggested that they take my tractor back and upgrade my tractor to a tractor that can handle the work. This size tractor should be able to handle it. It can't.

 

No. They have not charged me for that. I think because they know how unhappy I am. They have taken it several times. Luckily, where they fix my tractor they are only 4 miles away.

There was a guy on TBN that had problems with a mahindra. They upgraded him but he had to pay the difference. I'm not sure how the new one worked out.

I have 254 hours on it. Checked the meter the other day.

 

254 hours your blowing pistons etc etc.. I would start being less nice.. that's ridiculous.

 

Well you at least broke through to the "higher up's" and got the ball rolling. Hope it rolls you into another machine

 

I just wish they would acknowledge that there has been way to many problems with this particular tractor. And make me an offer of an upgrade. There is about a $3500 difference in my tractor and the MPower 75. I asked the people in Texas with Mahindra, "Wouldn't it be best to have a happy customer?"

 

Makes sense especially with documented problems and work done to it. Not just like your calling up and complaining because you bought too small of a tractor.

You can also point to this thread. This will live in eternity here. If your not happy anyone looking to buy one will read about this. If you get upgraded and have a trouble free tractor you will be happy and sing the praisles of them for working with you to replace a troublesome unit.

If you not sure how the Internet works there is servers that basically have cataloged pages of stuff so even if this site ceases to exist, those who know what to look for can recall a version of the page...granted it would not show up high on a Google search if someone searched these key words but still exists.
