Nice haul there brother! Nothing like getting 'already branched and bucked' primo firewood, right out your backdoor! It's a good feeling to be able to start replenishing the stacks, especially after his brutal winter we had this year, isn't it?
We dropped a huge red oak last fall and I asked my buddy to video me piecing the tree down.....well he held the phone sideways for starters, and he bumped a button on the touch screen and it filmed the clip in "polarized" mode.....that's a screen shot from the video. If I could figure out a way to flip that video I'd post it on here.........I can't STAND watching a video sideways!! It's a pretty cool "accidental" video in that polarized mode!
They're back there cutting again. Looks like part two of the lucky score. This may be an easy couple a cord.
Not yet, Dave. Waiting for the temps to warm up to where I don't need a space suit to go out there to split and stack. It is supposed to warm up on the weekend, so we'll probably get crackin' then.
Haha, I'm on my second cup. Want to give them a chance to get some stuff on the ground. They've only been at it a half hour.
You go git er done. I tell ya, after this winter, I am in full hoarding mode from now on. Have to get stacking tons of soft stuff like silver maple so its available for next year as well as neighbors who now know the difference in good wood. I'm moving my hardwoods to the sunniest/windiest areas in my yard. Every bit of standing dead white ash is coming down. Solar kiln too. This winter will not leave my thoughts all summer long.
Well, they weren't cutting more trees. They came back to buck up the logs! Now that's kindness and courtesy. This is what we wound up with.
Exactly my thoughts. I'm probably going to get that seasoning shed from TSC. I need to get some wood ready for next winter.
Did the town care about all the rubber left on the road from you two gettin over there? Nice loads of "free" wood. Can't beat it.
