So far I'm really liking mine . I've split around 90 cu ft so far with mine. Very impressed considering how small and quiet it is. .
I did get frustrated with the safety lever and wired it open. . Now on the larger rounds I let 1 half fall away . hand onto the other half and honestly can turn it into 3 pieces of wood as fast as I could using 1 lick each with an ax. . As the arm returns I slide the piece back , position it and pull the lever. Bang it's split . the biggest wood I've had gave 4 split pieces per half round . It took maybe 5 seconds maybe 10 seconds to make 4 split pieces.
I set it up on a work wood box/platform today. Which makes EVERYTHING much better . I'm VERY impressed So far. 20171014_144709.jpg

Nice work man. Those Kinetic splitters are impressive. How about a video of it in action?

For sure you'd want that high enough so you would not have to stoop or bend all the time while you are working.

I would love to have a kinetic splitter to compliment my hydraulic splitter. I do have 2 saws so who says a man can't have 2 splitters?

I love my Dr power rapid fire splitter, I have it for about 5 years and still runs extremely well, only issue I had was the tires,

I had my wife take a video of me splitting with it. I need to figure out how to upload and post it . Some may not like having the safety off . But it's not a problem for me . And it makes it so the work gets a nice fast flow to it. It makes it so splitting wood is mostly about moving wood rather than the actual splitting.
I am splitting relatively easy to split wood by and large. However I have split some 8" tight knarly black spruce that is very stringy and dense ring growth. . it took 2 hits for those but was still faster much faster than the 27 ton hydraulic I used a couple years ago.

I see that Dr has a 10 ton electric kinetic DR RapidFire Flywheel Log Splitter
For a pretty good price. But. And this is pretty important imo. Its max log length is 16" why they would do that I don't know . It's not all that easy to keep firewood EXACTLY a certain length. I guess if someone burned 14" wood there would be enough fudge room . the extra 3 ton of force over the Champ is WAY off set by only being able to split short wood. .

I split another half cord today with the Timber Champ. Still works Great. In a while I'm going to build a simple chute to see if it will split AND push a chute full of wood. Here's hoping !

Biggest diameter so far . took 2 hits of the rack to split it then 1 more when I turned it over

What I got done today. It Sure is handy to have the splitter in the woodshed . I split and stacks least half of it when it gets through the wedge. Saves at least 1 handling. Which saves a lot of time and effort.

I got to thinking I must have had a higher volume than I thot when I posted the above . So first thing this morning I scaled with a tape what I split and stacked yesterday. Came out to 92 cubic feet. Made me feel better. Still got a long way to go before before the shed it full !

It needs a work table so none of the splits fall to the ground. Then you can stack all of it from the splitter. Your back will thank you.

It will push a chute full of wood. The chute needs to be robust or it will break.

Just realise that the splitter is fast and you won't have time to pull your hand out of the way.
