On the bottom of the pile there is a lot of 10" diameter logs that will get split but the stuff that is 4" or less will be cut to length and scattered through the stacks when I am done.
Lots of honest sweat BTUs put into working up a wood pile like that. Good for you. The ten cord. Is that the 4ft.x 4ft. x 8 ft. per cord or face cord?
,, That is a lot of wood. Should keep you very warm for a long time. Good feeling when you can process the whole job. I used to cut some, but most of my heating wood was bought. Usually bought tree length in the spring and worked it up all summer. From what I have learned on here, for the most part, I didn't know what in heck I was doing, and the good Lord must have been looking out for me because I got through it in spite of my gross ignorance. Which I had access to someone to teach me back then. No internet or you tube back in those times.
The real time saver will be when I cut the 4" and smaller diameter logs up. I use an electric 12" chop with a jig for length. Nice and quiet that way
