OK. Just so you all don't think I have no other musical interests, here's a few more that leave an impression on me. The Traveling Willburys. This video was made about 6 months after the song was released as a tribute to the passing of Roy Orbison. Look closely at 1:40 and again at 2:20 and you'll see a rocking chair with just Roy's guitar sitting on it. OK I started this post at 3:00 this afternoon and the power went out. 4 hours later I can finish it. A tremendous song from Queen's Night at the Opera. The harmonies are just beautiful. And Renaissance, with my favorite female vocalist, Annie Haslam.
Dont remember seeing that Traveling Willburys video..great patronage to a long lost soul. Roy and Freddie are both missed.
Ah yes, kicked back in the recliner with a bourbon & water (J.W.Dant my favorite) listening to the smooth sounds of Diana Krall. Man, this gal is cooler than the bottom side of a pillow. Lite Jazz and one great piano player, great vocals to relax with...!
Going to see the Cowboy Junkies play this tomorrow night! It is going to be a good show. Wonder if they will be playing "..., I Hate the Cold"
Thanks, Scotty, for reminding me of those two great songs (and artist). Must be we are around the same "vintage". Lightfoot is a National Treasure up there in America's Attic.
Wow, what an eclectic bunch of members!!! Ain't music awesome?! Great tunes, a lot from bands I'd never heard of but plan to check out. Thanks guys. I can't believe, after 18 pages, that these two songs haven't been posted yet! They should be in any self respecting wood hoarders I-pod. Enjoy. and
This girl plays guitar as good or better then almost anyone. I got turned on to her last year, she plays blues, jazz, rock and her own brand that is a mix of all three. Here is one I just found recently. I really want to she her live after reading up on her and the respect she is gaining. Plus she is easy to look at!
Pretty awesome! Girl loves her Strats. Good vocals, too. Check out Orianthi - she puts a lot of guitarist to shame.
