Finally cut to size the rubber roofing I scored from the roof job at work last fall-this is covering mostly hickory, ash and cherry that is good to go this fall if needed...very hot day yesterday and its rained non-stop since last night and I've loved it-No rain here for 23 days and just 1" since Sept 1....
Always have to post a pic or two each fall of the "most beautiful maple in all the land"...Just kidding, but to me it is, my grandfather planted it in 1956...not much color to it yet though...may get some yellow now we're getting rain but the leaves are falling quickly-forecast is up to 3" over 36 hrs thanks to the latest hurricane (I've lost track of the names theyve been occurring so frequently). I trust all are well...
Nice job AW. I use the EPDM also and love it. I think I cut mine about the same width as you roughly 35" or so. It's heavy isn't it? I found you need a lot of weight to keep it down or it blows off. Much more wieght than I thought since it's so heavy to begin with. Place looks great, and we got your rain last night.
I cut the rubber roofing to 24",,, My splits are 16" + or -,,,,Thank you Fanatical1 , hope you and all are well and you have your sights set on a big OH whitetail...the mast is crazy good here this year...
Always good to put a hat on the stacks. I use salvaged roof rubber too. Good stuff to use, if you can find it.
Hope you do get some rain from this one. Seems a lot of folks are really dry. Then there are some others who have had crazy amounts.
It looked wider, I have my splits at 20 - 22" and I think (cant remember) I cut mine a little wider. Maybe it was 33". Let us know what you think. Remember my comments on it blowing off. I have a ton of pavers holding it down now. Lots of deer moving around now.... Eating the acorns etc.... Good luck hunting.
I too did some covering a bit early this year. Had some time on my hands and wanted some of the roofing moved, so, may as well put it to use.
