We had 52 this morning over coffee, we'll push in some firewood tomorrow so once the temps at night fall in the 30's we'll get rid of some of the shoulder season wood. We need that area for stacking more pine.

Isn’t that the hoarder’s dilema? We need to burn wood to make room for more wood. I got that.

It was a little chilly this morning but the next 4-5 days look to be warm before a cool-down. But the cool down will probably be only around our normal temperatures.

Strange but I checked and last years temperature for today was in the 80's.

Going to be windy tonight, 77 here at 10pm,
    Wind Speed S 22 G 31 mph

There is a chance of thunderstorms early tonight. The potential
exists for these storms to produce damaging wind gusts in excess of
60 mph. There is also the potential for an isolated tornado. These
storms are most likely between 9 pm and Midnight. Storm motion will
be to the east-northeast at 45 to 50 mph.

Outside of any storms, strengthening southwest winds will gust
between 30 and 40 mph early tonight and then increase to around 45
mph after midnight. A wind advisory is in effect for all of
Southeast Lower Michigan from midnight to 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

Strong southwest winds with gusts around 45 mph will develop
around midnight and continue through the overnight hours as a
strong cold front quickly moves through Lower Michigan this
    evening.

    * The winds will quickly diminish to 10 to 20 mph during Sunday
    morning.

Its 3c/37f right now. I came home from work tonight and was pleased to see my wife had made a fire and was already on a pine reload. The house is nice and warm. Were sitting in the rec room watching a crummy movie but Im happy because I get to watch the fire. Ill likely reload in an hour or so with some doug fir. Update,, we got rid of the crummy movie and picked Gremlins. Its hard to believe that its from 84. I havent seen it for many moons and my twelve year old son hasnt seen it so we will see if its any good. Cant really remember but it sure was a hit back in the day.

This morning it's 67 degrees out and currently pouring rain in Lake Placid. No need for a fire. LOL This place has a beautiful lobby with a great view. A pic from yesterday.

Just air in the stove today as its still going to be near 70 here in cheesehead land. Going down to almost freezing tomorrow night and mid thirties Tues night. Gonna clean the chimney today.... just incase I get the incurable itch to light a fire. (I probably will, ya know to make sure I got the stack clean enough:D).

A bit earlier than normal. I usually hold off until my birthday (Halloween) to light the first fire. But a new bigger house and being in the country means cooler nights sooner than when we lived in town. The NG has been burning a little in the AMs to keep the house at 68ish but I'm ok with that because its to early and warm to be schlepping wood in the house yet. And I like the wood critters to be slow so I can remove them before they make it into the house.

Its a beautiful sunny Thanksgiving Sunday in the Rockies. We were -3c earlier this morning with a heavy frost. Its still frosty in the shadows but the sun is taking care of the rest of it. I just threw some lodgepole pine on some coals from last night so we can keep the chill away. Hang in there mike bayerl!

Got home this afternoon. It does look like there was a little wind here but doesn't look like there was much rain. Haven't yet checked the gauge. Did not see anything that looked like much on the way home.

It rained good for an hour but the whole thing wasn't what it was cracked up to be, they did have tornado warnings in Lapeer though.
Ground soaked that stuff up fast as it was falling though
Winds died down right after the storms blew through instead of in the morning like they said

Weather has been hanging just above freezing all day with 20-25 mph winds. A few snow flakes fell, but they disappeared quickly.

About 59 degrees and rain here this morning. I don't need a fire for heat. But, I do need to burn a big old pile of brush!
    IMG_3360.JPG
I just got dirty and wet. But I caught it in time before it started raining harder. Good and lucky timing.:dex:

From farther away while in my truck out on the road. It's going well now.
