That would work okay Pete. Let me know about what time if you can. I'll try to have everything ready. Depending upon my body, I may even try to get started. We even have some logs close to the house so we can try out the new engine and make sure no leaks around the seal.

What are we going to confession or something? One more month and you're going to have to turn in your FHC member card.. ;)

That's a scary thought! Good thing I renewed it!

Started stacking and splitting but I have a looooong way to go yet. A driveway full and a huge pile behind the house plus a tipping over stack.

    I rarely borrow, but
was taught to return borrowed stuff in
better condition than when I got it.

I am absolutely the same way. If, and I do mean if, I have to borrow, whatever it is either gets a good washing, full tank of gas, or an IOU of some sort upon the prompt return of the item. Dad taught me that many years ago and I am happily passing that down to my boys.

I don't like to borrow but sometimes a person just has to.

I rented a splitter for a long time $34 a day from a rental company but got tired of not having a splitter and ended up literally stumbling into a small 4 ton ryobi splitter that did most of the work for a long time then ende up buying a splitter and pretty much rebuilding it from scratch into a full log processor with lift that was awesome. I sold that and purchased the current dirty hand splitter that I am using in the picture. It's a beauty of a splitter.

I think that I could have probably purchased a splitter after renting for so long but I don't regret it. Rentals definitely have their place. I always did the same washed, fueled and even checked tire pressure before returning them.

Nope:whistle: I'm going to try and split this weekend. Nothing else just split and run a bark burn pit.

Yeah I had a landscaper business not too far from me that let me pick out of their 6 by. They had all kinds of wood but it being just cut, it was heavy. just trying to get it from the truck to my trailer was a chore. Anyways they aren't in business anymore bummer. But the couple of scores Ive had were good enough for picking up.

I also have a Dirty Hand Tools splitter and I completely agree that it is a great splitter. I would buy another one in a heartbeat if I needed too.

I've had the dirty hands but not the splitter.

Pete brought his here for our GTG and it really looked great.

Dang Dennis, I thought you hopped on that tractor and went down the road looking for firewood on the side of the road and got lost:D
