Anyone have any luck installing the big bore kit in this saw? I have to split the bottom end on it and look a little closer at the bearings on it, looked like maybe the clutch side peeled the inner shell out.

The prices on those kits are tempting.

I have heard good things about big bore kits on those saws. I was pretty tempted to use one myself for a 362XP Special that toasted the top end. But I was able to get the cylinder cleaned up and just tossed an OEM piston in it.

If your cylinder cleans up, I wouldn't worry too much about going for a big bore. The last saw I built using a BB kit did not make significantly more power than a similar machine running an OEM jug.

Thanks for the input on performance of the the BB kit, I'll update the thread when I get around to doing some more work on it.

Sometimes mods are more headache than it's worth!
