I was wondering how everyone's fall colours are doing. With our drought year I was expecting the colours to be washed out a bit. Still pretty around here though. Once the leaves are off the trees our larch trees really pop. They are heat stressed this year so it appeared like they started to turn earlier this year.

Leaves are just falling off the trees here green. Then turning brownish on the ground.
Weird, even the swamp maples still have green leaves and they are usually the first to change and drop.
I did have to close windows last night though and I'd better go check them again now or I'll be starting a fire in the morning.
Supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow . We need it.

Cool air and a slight hint of wood smoke in the breeze. Acorns are dropping and the maples are red. What a pleasant evening to be outside!

Color was really coming on fast here until the heat hit. Most of those leaves fell now so not a lot of color around. But hopefully it will pick up again.

Speaking of pleasant evenings, last night we saw the most beautiful sunset we've ever seen!

20170929_092755.jpg I picked up a stove pipe cleaning brush, don't have a tall enough ladder to get on the shop roof.

Saw these at the local Sutherland today.

Man you guys all have the weather we should. It has been raining here like crazy, I've been burning since the start of August. We are supposed to have a nice weekend, so I'll be outside in the sun with a cold stove inside while many of you light your first fire.

Oh yeah, let's burn the paint right off the stove.
I need to CSS every piece of eastern white pine I can get my hands on and hire these marketers.
