I took down a ponderosa pine today for a neighbor a few doors down. I climbed it for fun, could have felled it but I like climbing. My wife took pictures. Sorry for the pic of a pic but my baby daughter was pulling rope for me. I'll try to get pics up from the computer later

BTW, don't let anyone suggest you can't burn that pine, it will be ready in a year if you get on it. And it will burn great. :coldfire:

Sure don't. It's awesome in shoulder season. We get nights in the upper 30s low 40s but will still get to almost 70 during the day through the end of October. It's perfect for that

The guy who let's me cut in his woods has had 13 stents, a few heart attacks, and during the last open heart, stroked out on the table. He's supposed to get 40%
of what I cut, I give him 50 and split it for him. He had a pile of 36" logs behind his house blocking my to a walnut he wanted down, he saw me cutting and rolling the logs with my 20" bar came out and told me to follow him to his barn. He picked up a tarp and said "that should make it easier, take it home with you I can't pick it up anymore"
He's also got a 281xp with enough compression to rip your arm off and a ms361 that hasn't had two tanks of gas through it. He said he'll sell those to me "when the time comes"

By the time she's 16, you may want to shorten the length of that rope and switch it over to a chain........

It is great that you have someone that knows how to handle your rope while you are climbing; never too young to learn.

Hey Yooper! I was taking for granted that you meant to shorten the rope to keep her close to his home and heart. I see this going in an entirely different direction now!

I wish I didn't have to leave the FHC until morning. There is going to be some funny stuff that I'm going to miss.

Naw, that's all I wanted to do was to keep her home and close to heart.
