32° when I left work this morning at 1:00 AM.......Frost when I got up and COLD in the house.....Cleaned the chimney and stove this morning and brought in some Lodge pole, there'll a fire for sure tonight.......Loving this cool weather! it was a long HOT summer.
Low-mid 80's here today, only got about three hours of my planned five hour day in before breaking for a sammich and a half gallon of water, noticed wife and baby taking a nap in the cool living room... thought about how that seemed like a good idea.. I'd just close my eyes for a minute... :/
It was 1c/34f this morning but its warmed up a few degrees. I burned some doug fir last night and this morning I raked the coals forward and threw a few pieces of pine in the stove. We have a big warm up coming which will be nice for a bit. Those are some crazy temps youre reporting SKEETER McCLUSKEY
16 c out , niceish night in Leeds uk . Got some wood that's been downed years ago . It looks what you describe as punkey but it's bone dry and light as a feather , Four feet wide just thrown in the comer of a stable yard. Burns hot enough to keep fire up to temp but doesn't last long and leaves loads a ash
91f in the shade right now and not much wood cutting getting done. Supposed to get normal temps for next weekend.
Woke up to 5 C (40 F) so as always, a poplar kindling fire. It's a funny ritual, make fire, open window to cool off, and later, close window and make fire. Our temps are supposed to bump up a bit so maybe the stove will rest a few days.
Looks like today was the last hot miserable day we'll have for awhile. Starting tomorrow through the next week, highs will be in the 60's; then the 50's. And wet, lets not forget about that....wet.
40's dark and wet today, tonight a few periods of slush snow Any of you out east want to see if we can swap some weather and even it out a bit? Stinny sometimes offers a big fan to blow the cold or warm weather one direction or another....
Well we are supposed to get warm and sunny for a week so if your weather gets better you'll know where it came from!
