A buddy gave me this saw today sad it wouldn't start and he had no idea what was wrong with it. I am going to mess around with it just for kicks to see if its something simple.

Looks like the big brother to the one I have from work , a 25av or something. Its a nightmare. We paid to have the carb done a few years ago but I can't get it to idle or adjust now? I think I just needs a rebuild? The setting on the carb are all over the place. It either races on me or dies I can't get it to idle and not blog and then run WOT?? I bet there is not 2 hours on my saw either!

Yeah chances are it will end up being a junker but I'm gonna at least check the basics to see if its something minor and if its not then I will just put it on the shelf in the garage, lol.

It probably is simple. Check compression then go from there. Our work saw just PR Olly needs another carb rebuild. Junk gas I bet.

I need to go look some specs up on this thing as I don't even know how many CCS it is or how old it might be lol. I'm gonna guess early 80's?

Adjusting the carb can be a challenge. You have to remove the air cover for each change & then replace it to test it.
