It's 34 acres and the 56th annual event, there's dozens of wood and coal powered tractors and stationary units running all day; you have to love that smell! As well as 50-100 hit and miss engines running at the same time! IMG_1598.JPG IMG_1600.JPG
They thresh wheat, bale the straw, shuck corn, press and cook sorghum, run stationary and portable saw mills (powered by steam engines) cut cedar shake shingles, run a pto and belt driven dyno, steam tractor and antique tractor parade, tractor pulls and so much more!

Neat to see the steam tractors, but that chain/band saw wow looks a little dangerous

If you think that looks like a bad idea think about these two (did not get a good picture) it's a belt driven 4-5' single man saw that's belt driven so not only are you running a chainsaw but you also have a steam engine and a belt system all to trip you! Video of one running!

The other was a flymo aka wheeless, hover mower of death!!!

Any idea how the drag saw advances the saw into the cut?

Great stuff by the way. I love anything coal, steam and iron.

Not exactly, but they lock it in with chains most likely has a stroke activated advancing mechanism or could have a spring tensioner that keeps a constant tension.
