Got to spend a little quality time with Dad today cutting some wood. Tonight it's quality time with the entire family. Some well deserved steaks. This is a huge oak tree that blew down at the creek at Dads house. Got a new chain for the Husky 440 and we went to work with it and the Fiskars. Man what a great day. Unfortunately as you will see there's some prime stuff laying down in the creek. That'll be another day lol [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Great stuff!

I'm not sure I see the creek, is it in the background of the second picture?

Looks like there's some vines on that big oak! I can't tell if it's poison ivy from the pic. ... I'm sure you've already surveyed that though.
There's plenty to keep you workin' too it appears! Happy that you are spendin' the whole day with family! Enjoy that steak and the company!! :grizz:

Looks like you have your work cut for you. Enjoying family time now and you'll be enjoying the BTU's from that oak in 2 or 3 years.

I envy you being able to cut with your dad. This past January, my father had a massive heart attack and had to have bypass surgery. Then he got staff infection in his blood and it almost took him. He is better now, but has zero energy and strength. Today he needed some small stuff (cherry and bradford pears) cut and he wanted to do it. So I gave him the ms180 and let him do it. About 5 minutes in, he was sitting down and not able to finish. So long story short, me and my 2 sons got it cleared up for him.
I say all that to say this...sorry im somewhat of a philosopher, enjoy the time you have with your dad. We were and still are best buds and do just about everything together. But today I really saw how he has gotten older fast. My dad went downhill very fast, but he is still with us. Im very thankful for that.
Oh and good job on the oak.

    1. This brings back memories of cutting with my Dad and my father in law. Both were very helpful even in their later years. My father in law worked in a sawmill and he worked circles around me even though he had over 30 years on me.

Yes, it will be good if you can get the wood out of the creek while the water is low.
