Yesterday I ordered my new company car. To celebrate the occasion, I decided to pick up some wood that was far less than would have been worth my while in my truck. Picked these two 36" x 12" oak rounds up and busted them up and shoved them in the trunk of the car that will soon be replaced. I fit all but one normal sized split in the trunk. Pretty dry, tons of checking and huge cracks. Probably in the low 20ish % range I'm guessing.

I have to admit I get a kick out of the hoarders on here that load up their cars and suv's with wood. Free BTU's is always good.

I dont think you will ever see me load the car to the point where there is wood on the seats! I normally use my Bronco, yeah its an SUV, but I can fit almost half a cord in it. I use it as a truck because its paid for, and I cant really justify buying a new truck when I have a company car that I drive most of the time. I may have to buy my wife a truck though
lol this is actually the first time I have ever picked up wood in the car. I put the maul in it before I left for the day, knowing I was going to pick the wood up.
I've had some rounds riding shotgun with a black plastic trash bag underneath. I would get SO much over my head if I had a truck!

I know...but there are areas in the back I haven't colonized yet. Behind the stacks around the pool, there's a strip of about 8 feet up to the fence. And in back of the pool, there is quite a bit of room, but it's shaded. Maybe if I prune the overhanging branches, that would help.
I figure I spent more than enough of my personal time (pitfall of being salaried) in it traveling this week to justify a little detour for myself at the end of the day.
Right now its loaded down with tile, mortar, and grout for the hearth pad I need to throw together to welcome my new AS into the home.
