I do notice the bottom of this stove gets a whole lot hotter than the pdvc did. since the pdvc was up on its own pedestal. now im thinking i need more of a formal hearth pad. First 4 feet of living room where stove sits is wood subfloor, then 1/2" concrete board then ceramic tile. from there it transitions to hardwood.

It got fairly hot to the touch just being on 1. i'll make something before its the time of year where it needs to be cranked. maybe 2 concrete boards, 1/2" each and tiled. just to be safe.

My brother (older) lives in a double wide in Zephyrhills Fl. He walks with a walker and cane, on oxygen and stubborn as they come. He wouldn't go to a shelter. He and his wife sat home and waited the storm out. They lost some trim and some roofing but otherwise came through it ok. Some of their neighbors lost carports. He kept his electricity the whole time. Other parts of town are still without power. I think he staying put until things clear up some. Too dangerous to venture out as yet. I have a friend near Naples who has no power, but their house is still standing. That whole state got hit bad. It is a wonder more lives were not lost.

Not much from my point of view. Just more dizzy. My numbers seem to be about where they were in before all the meds were piled on. Good thing is that I have started my telehealth monitoring program with the VA. Have dropped 3 pounds so far. I hate diet restrictions. They are insulting to my 70 years. But if I want a few more years and less pain, I have to shape up, literally. I am faithful to my swimming program at the VA pool. I'll see the MD again in a couple weeks.

I no likey the more dizzy part. The docs should back off a bit with whatever meds aren't doing anything to help. Get thyself to someone who understands geriatric folks as you are one. Dizzy is not a good state for us old farts.

We got rid of some jars and such, had more than we can use, as we are only two old farts and the kids do their own.

The high heat foil is great stuff.

Just wipe the areas to be applied with a suitable solvent/alcohol to remove any oily film.

The tape is far and away better to stop the wispy seepage of smoke as compared to the messy look of silicone.

I used the tape on our big Whitfield install, and it has been sweet.

Glad to hear all went well on the new install

Damp and overcast today. Had the windows open and the fan going all night. Not at all typical for this time of year. My son took his family fishing. Betting it will be their last trip out for the year.
Saw a cute post on FB this Am " If I woke up and nothing hurt, I would think I was dead" Can't recall the last time I didn't wake up with a back ache. Enjoy you weekend.

Lesson learned today...dont order brake rotors from Amazon....Needed new and Amazon had the same as RockAuto but I had a $98 credit at amazon so figured why not....

Rotors shipped from 2 different locations, neither was packed properly. One was in the Beck-Arnly manufacture box and wrapped in the manufacture bag with Beck-Arnly printed all over it but had broken through the box due to inadequate packing in the Amazon box-overall the rotor was ok though. The other was in just the Amazon box and the rotor was in a non descript plastic bag that said Ready For Shipment and a printed label with the item number on it. Opened it up to clean with brake cleaner prior to installing and found the rotor surface had stains on it that would not come off. Since I dont know what it is I am not taking chances and it is quite obvious that someone else has returned this same rotor for likely the same reason

I got half a brake job done today, the other side will have to wait until the replacement comes :headbang:
