Well, final report on daughter's evacuation from Irma. She (and my ex) left this morning around 7am from Ga. and headed south on I-75.
12 1/2 hrs later, she's back in St. Pete. Apparently little or no damage in her area, car was fine, power seemed to have gone out for a short time, but was on when she got back. They found that some restaurants were actually open, so had a good dinner. She reports that there are a few gas stations open, but not many. She looking forward to a nice sleep in her own bed.

Thanks for all the thoughts & prayers......they worked.

I got the call today - My new 25-pah is coming tomorrow! i forgot to ask if the new vent kit etc i ordered is all bundled in one trip. I can't wait. It's gonna be a long day at work.

I dont know who is going to be happier. Me or my dog (pictured in avatar). He enjoys the stove more than i do. with the increased warmth he may never leave it.

The critters really love the stoves.

Our kitty delights in curling up on the back of the couch where the warm air blows across from the stove.

The first fall weather system is poised to roll in here by the weekend/first of the week, and it certainly is a great time to get the two stoves ready to go.

A good swamping is in order me thinks.

Far more fun on a nice warm day as opposed to being out in the rain.

Back in June when we shut down for the season the stoves have been ignored since, so some TLC is in order.

Rode to work in the rain this morning - it was 61* at 5 AM so it was a beautiful ride (and admittedly, it was a light rain). Been a really nice week for commuting on the bike! Stove has been off since Sunday morning! Gonna be another warm one tomorrow morning - may have to chance riding in heavy rain coming home. Haven't decided yet. Could drive the truck and grab some pallets though . .

We'll see how I feel in the morning.

Took a day trip out to Monhegan yesterday. It was the perfect day for it. Sunny and warm all day and the cool wind off the water balanced it perfectly. What a treasure this place is! But the trip was simply too short. We will go back in the future and stay a few nights so we can check out more of the island and hike all of the trails.

The 25-Pah came today. It was a beast of a time getting it up my 2 stairs. lol. It went in easy. At first i thought they forgot to put in the OAK kit. so i was like ok i'll just email them and use my existing one for the time being etc. so i installed the stove and went to open the hopper and it was in there. DOH!

So now its all installed. it fired right up, self lit no problems. its raining out so i couldnt fire outside. plus i work tomorrow so i was kind of on time constraints. It doesnt smell too bad. I sealed most of the leaks in the vent pipe. Im sure theres more to do. Amazing how new duravent pipe can come with leaks. oh well. I have some high heat foil tape on it. i will be painting it black eventually.

Nice stove, just chugging along on 1. putting out a lot more heat on 1 than the pdvc with the same size fire. doesnt look like it needs any adjusting. I like that there is just 1 auger motor and not 2. less so go wrong. also, theres a lot more room inside the stove to work in case i need to replace something in the future.

I'll get to posting pics soon. I still havent hooked up the stat. I think I might want to get the honeywell wifi stat so i can turn this on or off or change temp from my cell phone. that should be sweet.

Thanks to all who helped me in the decision making process. Im very happy with this stove so far. !
