My honeys parents are just outside of Tampa in a mobile (trailer) home park. They left Friday morning and made it only as far as Tallahassee due to traffic. No hotels/motels so had to sleep in the car at a hotel parking lot and then on to Alabama where they found a room at inflated prices of over 200/night

That's why I told my Daughter (and my ex who wanted to wait til Friday) to leave Thurs morning.....they went from St. Pete. They made it (slowly) all the way to just SE of Atlanta.
They're now deciding when to return....I-75 down south to the Fla. border is fine, but no info after that. My daughter contacted friends who rode the storm out and said St. Pete never lost power.

It would likely pay to wait until they have road condition reports that are complete all the way to St. Pete. Things are a bit of a mess below the border right now.

Inlaws made it through fine. Just some wind and water damage. Never lost power. :)

That is so far above my pay grade I would never be able to stay in Alabama. Who woulda thunk that they are regularly more expensive than New England (except during specific events)

Came upon another project for the ladies (wife and sister) they had picked up a table leg set from refuse and asked me to make a top for it so that they could sell it at their business. So I heeded and hence forth came a table top made from a couple of pieces of 200 year old salvaged English Oak from the Harvard Museum project given to me by another Superintendent who needed to make space.Took an afternoon to create and an hour to wax it up with some paste wax, ladies still have to paint up the legs. Love the way over the years it has been patched, if you look close you can see the patches mitered little squares, this was a 2 boards from a platform.
