Swamp maples down the road a couple miles from here turned last week. Everything else was pretty much hanging on until I noticed this morning that the silver maples out back are starting to turn their ghastly pale yellow (why couldn't they be pretty maples back there?!?)
Its been under 100 here a few days now. Fall must be coming! How are you Dennis, Old friend? Checking to see what the wood burners are up to these days.
Great to see you on the forum again Flatbedford. Judy and I have been wondering how well you've settled in out there and how the work is going. Do you still have the motorhome? Hey, does anyone know who these folks are? Hint: I think only 3 of these are on this forum. One the left is Tony and TJ. We're very happy and proud of TJ who is now in Colorado at the Air Force Academy and doing great. And yes, he is now much taller than his father!
Wow, this goes back a few years. Was this 2013 or 14? The gent in the green jacket was a woodworker and canoe builder from NY from the other place. I think he did some good posts on moisture content of wood and oven drying samples. His name escapes me. Behind him to the right I think he was from CT, and was a skiing guy. Pen is in the light blue shirt with red cup. I think I know one more. Edit: blue shirt, red cup and glasses. Was it Gamma's husband? The flatbedford's on the right.
You were close Jon. I wish I could remember his name but he was very popular on a different forum until he quit burning wood and went to a pellet burner. Then we heard very little from him. Eric VW I'll try to give names. First are Tony and TJ. Tony comes onto the forum occasionally and I think his screen name is fire_man. He is from MA. Some might remember Michelle and her screen name was something like gamma ray or something similar and that was her husband, then Michelle. They divorced shortly after that picture was taken. Then the fellow Jon was talking about but darned if I can come up with his name right now. Then comes KC. This is the fellow Jon said was from CT and yes, he loves to ski. I still keep in contact with Ken and he is a nice guy. Next to him is Pen and then our friend who is now from Las Vegas, Flatbedford and his lovely wife. We were honored to meet with these fine people and many others too that are not pictured. They are all wonderful people. Here are a couple more pictures, some of these you might recognize. The tall fellow with only half of his hair is Tom Morrissey of Woodstock fame. The fellow with the camera is thewoodlands and his lovely wife along with the ornery one. Good friends; good company. Standing are My IS heats my home fishingpol raybonz and Tony (I guess I don't remember what his screen name is but thought it was fire_man). Then the lazy ones sitting are your's truly and the ornery one. Me and the ornery one, Jon, Darrin and Ray.
