Been wanting to add one of these for a couple of years. Got a good start on it today. Neighbor gave me a pretty solid pallet he didn't need. I set it on blocks and added corner posts and top rail on 3 sides. I cut up a cattle panel for the back and sides. Need to secure those in place and reinforce the bottom.
I had a somewhat smaller one of those for a couple of years. Regular fence instead of beefy cattle panel. Piece of old plywood on top. Got into a different supply of wood so fewer uglies and just bury my fewer shorties in the stack. Uglies on top. With having a few trees to c/s/s/ cut up by someone else right now I'll probably have a bunch again.
I keep waiting to run across a free/cheap IBC tote. I think I'll be doing something similar in the near future. Looks perfect!
For a while IBC totes were a dime a dozen and cheap around here. Now there's just a couple people selling them and they're around $125 each. Filthy oily greasy ones are $100.
Still debating what I want to do. At the very least I will add a footer board. I still have a piece of cattle panel left I could make a door/gate out of.
Them uglies may want to boil out since they'll be so unwieldy to stack, ya know? Maybe not an issue at all!
I can get used IBC totes in pretty fair condition for $50. Brand new ones or close to it, go for $100 in this neighborhood. I found a CL ad for cages only, for $35, but was too slow.
Another great invention by the FHC gallery!!! I'm hoping you haven't patented it yet since a certain someone may be building its twin very soon
