I think you need the side chain adjuster, clutch cover, and bar studs.

I used my parents ms211cbe this is weekend. I had to take off the side cover to get the chain back on the sprocket. What a pita. As long as the chain doesn't detail, is fine, but if it does, it's ugly.

    Mine is currently broke.
I just picked up a 210c and it came broke..

Runs great, but i cant get the mechanism to function.
Im not even sure what is missing.

Do these saws require a special stihl bar for the tensioning system?
I put on a brand new stihl bar.

Id much rather just have the traditional style.
I have an 025 sitting next to it and the parts are all the same.

I havent even figured out how to get the side piece on the saw its self dismantled yet.

I have completed this conversion on my MS250. Pretty straight forward as stated. New bar studs cover and chain adjuster. I think I did mine for about $25 maybe less since they were aftermarket parts. Best thing I ever did, I hated that easy adjust.

Can you maybe walk me through how you did it?
I havent torn into mine yet, but with just looking at it, what all is involved with installing the new adjuster?

What keeps it in and from falling out?
Does the side piece where it sits get removed to install it?
    How does it come off?

    Thanks

I did one a few years ago. Once you take the cover off it is a simple conversion. If I recall I was done in about 20 minutes.

I ordered all the parts listed above.

The clutch cover is wrong. Way wrong.
Luckily i have one that will work, but i'll need another as the other saw isnt a parts saw.

Interesting, didn't have any issues on mine. If I remember correctly the only thing I didn't like was the bar studs were a little long.

That looks like the correct clutch cover. I bet they sent the wrong one.

Ive got everything other then the screw that holds in the tensioner.

I have another tensioner coming, which is the first one i ordered, Its coming from China.
I got tired of waiting and ordered one from within here in the USA.
Didnt know the first one was in China, not use to amazon.

Anywho, used the clutch cover from my 025, its all mounted and up and running, just dont
have any hardware retaining the tensioner right now.
