Not much to say. Woodpile has been coming along slowly between bouts of kitchen remodeling. I have split about 3 cord of new stuff and have 3 and a half cord lefotver from last year. I measured the main pile and it's 52X4X4 so exactly 6.5 cord by the numbers. New stuff is all hard maple & ash. Old stuff is all red oak and boxelder maple (yuck). So my two year plan is complete, as I expect to burn 3-4 cord per year. Of course I already have another 2-3 cord of unsplit stuff sitting around, going to need a new pile. Definitely going to build a decent woodshed in the next year or two, since my yard does not get a lot of sun, any wood older than 2 years starts to "turn" and I don't want to waste my effort. Garry
Cute kids! - Future wood helpers? Hey how come you get two "r's" in your name and I got only one? Gary P.S, nice going on the wood hoarding.
Gary, on that main pile, is that 52" or 52'? I only ask as I don't see that size in the pictures. No doubt you have more stacked elsewhere.
It is 52 feet long, measured it last night. The angle's weird... I can't get far enough away from it to get a proper perpendicular shot. For reference, the piece of metal roofing on the left side is over 20 feet long... Garry
Oh yeah - my "reserves" are huge right now. Plan on splitting before winter for my 2018-2019 season Heh, or maybe even 2019-2020.
Wow, your lucky. My Lovely Wife wouldn't that Reserve Pile sit around for more than a couple weeks....
