don't know if you guys have ever heard of these but they were rated as good or better than yeti at less than half the price. The big one I put a quarter of it with ice and rest water at noon today and it's still ice cold. it will be cool this time tomorrow. when I go cut wood I take this thing and don't have to worry about having a cold drink. They make several different sizes and kinds. the big one is 64 ounce, they make one 30 ounce. the cup is 40 ounce and they make other sizes. I don't know what technology they have to keep stuff cold but it works. haven't tried nothing hot yet, but imagine it will work too. When I first got the cup I filled it halfway with ice and set it on the counter by our wood stove. this was last winter and it gets pretty warm there. It still had ice in it two days later.
Hey Dennis Backwoods Savage , I'm pretty sure this is the brand I mentioned my Gson got. He has 2-3 of 'em in different sizes.
I bought an OT from Walmart last year. I had been reading about them on another forum and it sounded to good to be true. I finally thought I'd give then a try. They work! I have a couple Yeti's that were given to me since then as speaker gifts, both 32oz. One doesn't hold ice as long as the OT, since it has a company logo lasered onto it, I can't really return it. My only complaint is that the ice doesn't melt fast enough to allow you to drink it too.
This is one thing I wondered about. If the ice doesn't melt it would seem it would not make the water as cold and I like my water cold. Anyone else can chime in on this?
The ice won't melt until the water temp is above 32F. That cup will keep the water at 32F for a loooong time.
Just got an Ozark Trail a few weeks ago. 26 qts. $100 at Wal-Mart I put about 5 lbs of ice in it Sunday night then 7 frozen water bottles monday morning along with my lunches for 4 days. Theres usually still a little ice in a bottle or two on Wednesday night. Melted completely Thursday morning. My cooler stays in a seacan all four days. Im very pleased with the performance of this coolers. A 20 qt yeti is $200
Bought the 28 quart on Monday before heading down to New Orleans. I was surprised to see it ring up at 76.00. It works pretty well. I kept it topped with ice each morning from the hotel. I didn't know if I'd get stuck in New Orleans and wanted to have it as cold as possible.
