Yard Trees

About 35 years ago I planted several oak trees along with several that was already here, I cut down some as they were sweet gum and pines. now all that remains is oaks and pecans.

well now as I grow older I mighta made a mistake years ago. I have two acres and the leaves to pick up is a nightmare every year. I have purchased blowers and leaf vacs to help with the process but it's still a pain.

Now for some reason dead limbs have fallen all spring and summer long from these trees. I just cut up two big ones that fell out during a storm yesterday. so between the limbs and leaves it's getting to be a full time job keeping the yard clean.

Now I love the shade and wind protection they give and wouldn't cut em all down but I am getting too old for this.lol am I the only one with this problem.

 

I mow about 6 acres with lots of red oak on it. They drop small limbs constantly. Helps keep me in wood for the fire pit. I don't worry about the leaves.

 

Same age and know what you are saying. Got rid of the cattle and still have 7 acers to deal with. I let the neighbor make hay on 4 acers and don't charge him. I figure I am ahead since I don't have to spend the money on fuel and time to mow it. Several ash in the woods to take down along with the mowing. I hope it gets better but don't think it will.

 

well I am blessed surrounded by trees by prevailing winds blow leaves either east or north to a tree line no pick up

 

I planted 4 River Birch years ago....Messy/Dirty trees, drop leaves in the summer, seed pods in the spring and dead branches year round. I will trade you for a few oaks, LOL

 

there are big oaks up the fields, and they drop off limbs all the time,when they fall i will cut them up.

 

Sticks n limbs all year, then a billion leaves in the fall
Not much to do about it , pick em up, cut up , chop up, blow em away , over n over
The worst part is the small stuff that wants to grow out n take over the yard and grows by the fence
