I will have to run my Poulan 505 with a 660 piston in it to see how it measures up.

Is Frontier a Refinery up there.

    Kind of a refinery. ;)

Post up a picture of the collection of would've been chain killers once the pile burns down.

My bad I did not know the College there was named Frontier.

There was Refinery down in Cheyenne at one time and it was owned by a company called Frontier.

We need to go get longer sticks. It's way too hot! This pile is about 6' tall and most of the pieces are 24-30"+ in diameter.

Yes it is, but the crotches were a major pain to split, fencing was grown in to some of the trunks, and as I said, cable and chain as well as other misc hardware made it stuff for "just in case". We are going to keep cutting an area that was clear cut last fall. We figure we have til next spring before the briars take over. My dad has 12 acres of woods that a Forester just marked for culling some junk trees. There is a few years worth of cutting there. A lot of beech, hickory, some dying ash and a few mis-shapened oak.

I have about 9 acres of woods that was select cut 15 yes ago. There are quite a few culls in there now as well. I am probably set for a long time so there is no need to worry about salvaging these hard to manage pieces.

Doesn't make an enemy to me. I started to burn some of my junk. I had been moving some of those to the back of my 0f my acreage, but got to thinking that I may have to get rid of it if I ever sell the place. I have a stack as large as the one you burnt waiting for a fall bonfire or two.

Yeah, no enemy here. I've been getting rid of junk that I just don't want in the OWB by doing the same thing. Had three fires so far this summer, mostly consisting of punky stuff, old rotting pallets and brush. I used to burn a lot of pallets in my old OWB but stopped because they were obviously full of nails, and it was a pain fishing them all out of the ashes with a magnet.

My kids would love that fire, they'd be eagerly awaiting the coals with hot dogs and marshmallows in hand.
