Finally got my pictures sorted out thanks to Grizzly Adam so I thought I'd post up a couple....nothing as sweet as the pictures from Midwinter though.

Got a start on hauling over some wood for the racks at the house. Silver maple on top with some newer box elder on the bottom. Shoulder season wood for the start of the season.

Took my bride out for pizza last night. Found a new pizzeria that offers vegan pizza and toppings. She was pretty excited.

I don't quite understand the whole vegan concept myself so I added extra meat on mine to support our local farmers. :)

We did find a good Iowa beer. It's brewed in the Amana Colonies, a German settlement on the east side of the state. It was an Austrian Lager from Millstream Brewing Co. and was a solid beer with almost no aftertaste.

Talking beer, I finished up installing the cement board and "tile" panels for my German Bier glasses.

Tonight we took the tandem bike out for a ride. We kept it up right so I guess we won?!

We have a contractor on site for a couple weeks at work right now. On Monday they were cutting into a piece of 36" dia. concrete pipe, the Stihl cut off saw (TS420 I think) either got pinched or caught something and kicked back violently hitting the operator in the face with about as much force as you can imagine from a WFO 67cc saw. It knocked him over and sent his hard hat flying. When he got up there was already blood everywhere and his lip was hanging off. The people that were there thought he had been cut.
They rushed him to the hospital about 6-8 blocks away and then they sent him by squad to a larger hospital to see a plastic surgeon.
He got a ton of stitches and has a broken nose but is supposed to be back to work tomorrow (1 week off)
Turns out he didn't get cut...the damage was all just impact related. His hardhat had a small cut in the front of the bill, I think they said his safety glasses were broke, but the way they figured out that he wasn't actually cut was the dust mask he was wearing was not cut.
I was having a hard time figuring out how he could have actually gotten cut...it would have had to flipped completely around to get him in the face with the way the blade shield is made...but then turned out he wasn't actually cut by the blade.
Never heard of a cut off saw kicking back like that...I've had 'em get pinched and kick just a bit...had 'em "bounce" off of something, but never ever heard of a kick back like this one! :startled: Skeery!

I'm not sure, I was only there in the winter. It was all the way at the far northern end of town I believe. There's a motel and little cottages on the southbound side of 201. We used to rent houses directly across the street on their property.

Almost Larry. Was supposed to play today but the lead singer I was going to play with has blown his hip/lower back out and is done for the summer. We were there. Other bands did they're thing. They all sounded great...

Looks like fun. FYI, there is a man with an outside sales (at College Carryout on Mt. Vernon Ave in Augusta) who sells Tie Dye clothing. He has been there for the past few years. It is an outside thing. You might call College Take out and ask if he is set up in their yard before you drive over should you be interested.
