I thought it was. Runs great now, wouldn't start when I got there. Sparkplug was loose but threads are intact. I noticed it right off the bat and snugged it up. Took a quick peek inside and it's not carboned up at all.

Once tight, it fired right up. It has strong compression, although I didn't check the numbers, maybe I'll get to it after fair this week. I didn't haggle on price since he said he had someone else coming in an hour if he didn't have it sold. I paid his asking price.

It has a 20" bar and the "safety" chain. If I keep it, that will be changed.

I would say you won't find too much of a better deal than that.

A non-xtorq even, you did good, hang on to that one. Most of the non-xtorq saws you find now are getting pretty beat up.

Looks like you couldn't get a better steal of a deal. I paid $300 for a 038 Super, very close to your CC's for comparison. Runs like a beast best for bigger stuff while me 026 takes the smaller stuff.

    I'm more of a Stihl guy. What's the advantage of a non-Xtorq?

150$ for any running 372 is a dream deal! The 372 xtorque has a strato carb and a epa muffler i believe.

X-torq is slightly heavier, the non xtorq responds to mods a little better, and some of the early xtorq saws were prone to big end rod bearing failure. Running them back to back, the non xtorq feels a little stronger to me. The xtorq is supposed to use a little less fuel as it should bring a strato saw, but I personally can't tell any difference in fuel economy. The differences are only slight, but they are there.

Thanks for the info. I have both a Stihl 361 and 362. I think I'm ditching the 362 and keeping this Husky.

Helluva nice 372xp, be sure to only use red armor mix oil or it will self destruct. And remove all the paint from the blade so it runs cooler.Any ?'s look on OPE.com they know everything about stuff like this....

I wondered where all the red armor posts were coming from. I spent about 5 minutes looking around over there, that was enough for me. Some of the stuff I read on there is comical. All the worshiping that goes on makes me want to puke. It is what it is, they can have it. It's just lawn equipment...
