With the very damp fog mornings and days we have been having, campinspecter wanted to go and get a very wet knotty gnarly hemlock log he has had his eye on for quite some time. He went out before hand and got it bucked up so yesterday we went out and split and loaded half of it to take to Mom's. He is finishing bucking the one section we dragged to the splitter. Trying out the little saw. First one split not too bad. I ended taking pictures with my phone so I am learning new things. The second block was really gnarly. Here is a video. The second section of the block I couldn't take any more videos as the storage on the phone was used up. I deleted some old pictures and took more regular pics. I know people like to see the machine in action. The log was bucked into four sections to get up onto the road. Then it was bucked into rounds. The rest of the blocks weren't as bad as the one in the video but there were sections that needed a bit of noodling.
The other picture of noodling We loaded 10 blocks on the truck to make three rows. Without the airbags, the truck won't have been able to handle the load. This log has sat in a ditch of water for about year. There are 10 blocks left still to get. Another day, another time.
Next time I will take the real camera. Pics from the phone are huge and so are the videos. I have to resize everything to create the threads.

The splitter is really cool, high reaction speed. Those videos showed a real master getting it done ! Ive got some hemlock to split myself but its not going easily. I wouldn't call it splitting, more like chunking similar to that. Have you noticed about hemlock when you cut it that it smells like blackberries?

Thanks for taking us along on your wood hoarding trip, I enjoy the pics and videos Woodwidow you can set your phone for a smaller size picture in your settings, I set mine at 16:9, 4032x2268, no resizing needed, they upload just fine, of course you can go smaller than that also
I have an iphone and there doesn't appear to be an adjustment setting for picture size. I will have to Google to see if it can be done.
Find your general settings and then go to photos and camera or just camera. Then you can look for camera options based on the phone. They look terrific hd so see if you can turn the hd off and you still can get a decent video or turn down the quality settings. I turned mine up about a week ago just fiddling with it. But i dont take many photos.
Well I did a little searching and I am not so sure now you can change that setting on an iPhone, why, they would not have that ability, doesn't make sense to me. Trade it in on an Android
for iOS maybe take a screenshot of the pic otherwise pretty sure you can only pick video sizes I d/l my 6s pics to my laptop before uploading them here and they seem to u/l fine (I don't access this site from my phone)
That's what I read when I searched. My Samsung S7 has separate settings for each, front camera picture, front camera video, rear camera picture, rear camera video
Thanks for all the input on the phone info. I think I will stick to using the camera or downloading the phone to the computer more often.
