My son is on a whirlwind trip (company) and has now left Australia. It's funny when traveling sometimes to see how they go especially when crossing the International date line. Also, the route he has to take. Here is part of a letter he sent: I am at the Sydney airport, waiting for my flight. Heading to Buenos Aires today by way of San Francisco and Miami. Looks like I will be traveling for 32 hours and 39 minutes. That doesn't count the taxi to and from airports today. Can you say long day? On top of that, I am crossing the date line. Departing Saturday afternoon and arriving Sunday morning. I feel for him and am very happy I don't have to do that. But, I'm sure the company will give him some rest time...not.
Safe travels to him! I'm so glad my son hired on with a new company years ago. The company he used to work for had him bouncing all over the globe also....didn't like that with all the crazies spreading out and all.
I can certainly relate Dennis as I travel a lot. I now schedule a few days of downtime after my long trips like that as it really wears on you. Some people are built for travel like that...it certainly is cool to see the world. Though most times for business you don't get to see the best areas.
That's a pretty round abut way to get there. Great for sky mIles and connecting though! 15 years ago I was actively searching for an international field service job, but them I met my wife and that ended the search. Pretty sure I wouldn't do it again with the current t world climate.
Yes, it seems it would have been a lot shorter to fly from Australia to Argentina but if there are no flights... But it does seem there could have been a better way than to go from San Francisco to Miami.
Crazy!! I went to Canada once for a corp meeting, I was gone from the house 54 hours doorstep to doorstep. I was in Canada for 9 hours, the other 43 hours was driving to/from airport and flying and connecting flights
