Im waiting to receive the same letter from my town. 10' from the back of my house is conservation land, but a previous owner removed many trees, so my lawn actually extends another 30' into the conservation land. I have about 8 cord CSS on the "other side" of my property line. A couple weeks back I saw someone with a clipboard walking back into the woods away from where I have my stacks tucked away. I know it wasnt a neighbor, because you cant see it from the street. Hell, you cant even see it from most of my backyard because its tucked around the corner behind my next door neighbors unused property. Must have just been surveying the property lines.

I have all I need right now, and a couple of cord left to split, but when a friend calls and says that they have this for you just laying there right by the road......

I will be there Saturday morning. how can a guy say no to that? Have not actually seen the tree yet, but he says the big rounds will need busted up to be loaded.

I don't think that there is a cure, and don't know if I am looking for one LOL.

I'm pretty sure that they asked the previous owners to move some things, like the old chicken coop, and 20' car tent that was partially on that land before. They just gave them the "oh yeah, sure thing" response, and everything was the same until I removed them last year.

When I cut and haul wood I remind myself of what you guys always say--touch it as little as possible---who wants to move it 6 times? I had 2-3 cord over under the next door cottage lean-to for a couple years before the cottage was suddenly bought by my wonderful Pittsburgh (surveyor) neighbor---did I fly into action! Dumped it all in the backyard in a heap with a tarp on the ground until I could figure where my stash could go---again, handling it way too much...I wish it were a bit cooler I'd be bringing in more:rofl:

Thus might be an over hoarde.

I decided to take advantage of this mornings unseasonably cool weather to swing the axe a bit. I just stumbled upon about 1/4 of a cord of red maple that I didn't realize I had. It was hiding under some white oak.

Bad: I don't have as much oak as I thought.

Good: this will be ready sooner. Possibly this winter since it's already feeling pretty light from sitting for 1.5 years before I got it.
