I don't do much at any one time any more but over time it gets done. Here is some wood that was cut and split during our GTG last April. This is just part of what didn't get stacked during the GTG. Without measuring I'd say there is close to 2 cord there. It worked nicely moving the wood with the FEL and that saves a lot of bending, which my back really appreciates. A couple days ago I really stressed my back so had to really take it easy with this work so it might be a little sloppy in the stacking but I don't think they will be falling over. In addition, where our wood is stacked is really out of sight so I don't have to be concerned with what the neighbors think. None of this crap, "That wood stack looks like H__." Who cares?
if my neighbors complained they would be handed a set og gloves and said to fix it... So question I have is how long will it take Dennis to say I should have bought a years ago
Nice work Dennis! Are you about caught up from the GTG? You're absolutely right Canadian border VT ! I have a little 1025R JD and can't believe how helpful it is. Much better to use the tractor than your back!
Well, having plenty of experience with tractors I knew what I was getting in to. Yes, we do wish we had this a long time ago but sometimes one does have to wait. They don't give them away... Not yet caught up from the GTG and probably won't be until some time this coming winter. Still have the limbs to get out of the creek and hope to do that soon as the water is finally going down. I'll have to move some of the white oak to be able to get the tractor in to lift the limbs and may have to cut a few more trees too in order to have maneuvering room. There is still plenty of stacking to do too with the split wood (I hope to get pictures of that this week) along with gathering all the logs that still need splitting. I'll try to get them all into one place before splitting rather than scattered all over. Shoot, there is still some splitting left from a year ago too! Now if my body will just cooperate...
well I had tractor and took me 2 winters of snow blowing my driveway with a 24 inch track Honda blower to buy my 7 foot blower attachment and chains for Kubota... paid myself (what plow guy was charging) took awhile but it's mine now... I still wish I had done it sooner but other things kept taking priority.. furnaces roof windows.. yeah food.. all those extras in life

It will all get done in its time. Sounds as though you've still got plenty of catching up to do. There's nothing wrong with eating the elephant one bite at a time.
Don't feel bad buddy, with this patio nightmare I'm dealing with, I STILL haven't split any if the wood I've collected since last fall. I'm WAAAAY behind! Good thing I'm almost 5 years ahead on my C/S/S hoarde!!
Now I have to think hard about trying to get limbs out of the creek. That is, limbs from the oaks that Scotty Overkill dropped last April. Not sure if Judy and I can handle it but will try for sure.
